Palin and Beck already stated that they would never run for office and would never run the nation. I was there and it was one of the most spiritual things I've ever been too, and I'm not even that spiritual! While I don't like them the rally was awesome and the people were extremely caring and fun to be around. I think MLK would have been honored.

@ToddAldrich I partly agree with you, however socialism is not the problem, its corporatism. Corporatism bribes, threatens and corrupts government to work for their interests over the general populations interests.
The problem with this rally is Republicans are trying to convince people that they are the answer, when actually there is very little difference between left or right, Republican or Democrat in the USA.
The only person I know of who could make positive changes is Ron Paul.

@dazzagazza6969 I agree that corporatism is a problem, but socialism is the problem also. Economically speaking they are not that different from fascism - please note I said ECONOMICALLY speaking.
I will also grant you that entrenched party leaders in the GOP have been very statist in their orientation also, but I also think we need to recognize that the grass roots in the Republican party have been making progress for freedom and liberty. MANY of the former leaders are out in the cold.

@ToddAldrich Not just domestically. I guess that most Americans feel that they need protecting from the evil world outside American, but in reality the USA with 40% of the worlds military power, is the biggest threat to the rest of the world. South America, South-East Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia, and now the Middle East have all been affected by US Economic and Military Imperialism.
I think the rest of the world would shit it's pants if Sarah Palin became the 'Almighty Leader'.

@dazzagazza6969 America has NOT engaged in imperialism. That is a FLAT OUT FALSEHOOD. Any engagement we have undertaken has been to deal with a clear and present threat from other countries - USUALLY the imperialism of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Expansionism of the last century was designed to isolate and destroy our nation. This is NOT conjecture it is a fact backed up by reams of documentation from the Soviets themselves. Recently the Islamofascists have surpassed the Soviet threat.

@ToddAldrich The USA isn't an imperialist - its an empire! I guess you know when your empire started....1803 Louisiana Territory. Since then it has spread over the North American continent, to Puerto Rico, Philippines, Hawaii, Alaska, Indonesia also Germany and Japan (military bases), Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan (nation building), not to mention wars in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and also the CIA controlled puppet governments of South America and the Middle East.
