I read the book a few year ago and loved in, but one thing i could not get is, did jud's wife norma really cheat on him or was it gage playing mind game's with him ?
The deamon or whatever it is inside gage,when it was alive in that solider said horrid things and they were all true,but it just sounds so shocking if what norma did was true.
Even though the movie is bad acting, I still love it because I have been watching it since I was a little girl. Like about two years old. I have been wanting to read the book for a while and I finally got it last night along with another of his classics 'Carrie'. But The Shining (as a movie) is awesome. I read about half of The Shining when I was about eight, until my mom took the books away from me because she didn't want me to read it.
Its not a horrorible movie it just leaves out alot of stuff. The book maybe is to long for a movie? If this movie was remade with proper actors it would give the people nightmares
The novel was extremely enjoyable, 100000x better than the book I'm currently reading (twilight).
I loved how Louis Creed slowly became more obsessed with the burying ground after the tragic events that happen to him. You should do more book reviews anyway, maybe even only book reviews. Much more enjoyable, and you won't get those douchebags that just trash talk over youtube on it because most of them don't even read. Good review :)
the funny thing is you kind of sympathize with Louis throughout the whole book, so you fall into his insanity aswell. It took me a while to realise that he was insane quite early into the book, if you look at his thoughts. Fantastic book about death and how people deal with it, I am reading the stand now.

It's hands-down the scariest Stephen King book I've read so far, but I really don't think books have the power to jolt you like a film. That being said, I loved the book. It was chilling, fun, original, engaging -- just an all out good book. I found it to be extremely depressing, but I don't think that's quite a flaw, lol. I wish a major question was answered in the epilogue, though...
This book is absolutely terrifying, he is not lying. I could tell he just read the book because he seemed bummed. I finished the book and was literally depressed by this book. if you do not think a book can be scary you are horribly, horribly, unspeakably wrong
Trust me, the book is wayyyyyyy more superior. Excellent and colorful characters, the antagonist is a character that will frighten you to your last thought. Quite possibly the best novel ive ever read. Also, check out Marvel's website. They are doing a really, great and excellent adaptation of the book in a series of 30 issues. Buy the book!
You have to finish desperation its my favorite stephen king novel. Oh and if you are a fan of horror check out the writer Richard Laymon, get any book you can find by him it will blow your mind!
Oh Oh,ive had been Nightmares for WEEKS from the Movie and Especially from Rachels Sister Zelda! When you say the Book is More Scarier then the Movie i will be have a lot of Fun while Reading! LOL
yeh i thought IT started off a little slow other than georgie dying which i knew it was gonna happenin from the movie..but i does get alot better and the pages start to turn faster....btw pet semetary was a very scary book one of my favorite stephen king books along with the shining
@Xavierrex3 i thought it was pretty scary...but at a few parts it kind of slowed down for me too..but overall it was pretty awesome! just finished reading bag of bones and it was pretty freaky.. it does get slow at times but is actually pretty good

The Stand is a fantastic novel. The movie sucks compared to the book, but the book is great. I also liked Pet Sematary and Misery.
