Thanks for your comments. Yes, U2 are Christians, but what they are singing about transcends the differences of all religions, it goes the petty bickering about whose god is the "real" god. Yaweh is All, the One, the Many, the Truth that glimmers in all our efforts to create a religion to express the ineffable. What a beautiful song. For people to use it as an excuse to sell their god or jesus here in these comments is sad and shows they can't think larger.

Yaweh, JHVH, YHVH, YHWH or Jehova (teragrammaton)was used by the hebrews to signify the incommunicable name of God. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, in other words, the God of Israel. Its obvious what U2 are reffering to. I beg to differ. Yes, they have their own religious context that was the background in which they wrote the song. However, I don't think this song is nothing but a "shout out" to others who think the same way they do. To limit its meaning as being relevant only to those who accept Jesus is silly. The song is bigger than itself and is big enough to encompass all the people of the world with our different views of the ultimate greatness from which the universe emerged.

Old testament law realy tell us about somethig of God´s will and ofcource it tells us about sin. What God hates, but in there it is little difficult to tell what He wants and likes. Sin is a bondage because of darkness. God wants to set us free.

God knows everything, but we don´t. God created man to live in freedom of choice.
