RIP Ernie. You were a great man, great friend, great musician. I miss you already. Thanks for being such an inspiration and I'll never forget my times with you.
My sister used to have a record of hers. She had on a blue dress on the front cover. The only song I remember on it was "Put Your Arms Around Me Honey". LOL Good memories of a simpler time.
Oh my! When I was a little girl, the CKNX Ranch Party was a staple in our home! It was usually very fuzzy and we had to adjust the rabbit ears but even if we couldn't see the picture, we would watch! Wonder whatever happened to Sharon Strong? Thanks so much for posting this!! Brings back some great memories of my mom and I watching!
@cawo77 I have also wondered what became of her. If someone knows, please pass it along. I remember having the worst crush on Sharon, at about age three, or four. When she sang and smiled to the camera, I thought she was singing directly to me. I was in a second-hand store a couple of years ago and picked up a vinyl LP Sharon recorded in the early 1960s.
@Vytautaus This is a distinct pleasure, Stan. I grew up and learned a lot about life from these shows that you were intimately involved in. Thank you for being part of the phenomenon called CKNX-TV and for helping bring me an important part of my childhood.
the man playing the gretch and wearing the hawian shirt is accually my grandpa and i went to see ernie today and he was helping me fix some old guitars i had.
@Drfat4 Your grandpa must be the amazing Ron Coulthard. Ernie fixed my mom's autoharp a few years ago. I loved seeing his shop. Besides being an amazing singer/musician, he is a topnotch craftsman and the warmest, gentlest human being alive.
