I'm definitely all for them bringing Sailor Moon back on TV, but it's not as simple as that. The license for Sailor Moon to be showed in all English speaking countries expired about four years ago - and very few higher ups showed any interest in renewing it. Believe me, I'm as disappointed as you are - but i don't think you'll get much luck.
I have seen pertitions with literaly THOUSANDS of people who have signed them and some begging to put it back on yet cartoon network is still refusing. I have signed 20+ of those pertitions.

Him and his cronies in Congress passed animation laws that were so vague it compromised a lot of our anime programming. Don't get me wrong, I think some stuff should be outlawed (Lolicon, for instance), but the Laws are so vague, and there are so many threats of outright ban (I have friends that do fan-subs, so its not based on hearsay)that it's almost impossible to bring over new episodes of anything involving high-school aged or younger people. Heres the truth...Sailor Moon is not I repeat not going to be on TV again.But.Theres A way to watch or get it on VHS or DVD.Theres Youtube and other videos sites to go to and.You can buy the VHS's or DVD on Ebay or Amazon or whatever site that sells it.

It won't be brought back. US lost rights to air it. Even though I liked the show a lot and I'm still a huge fan...the should try to get something worked out and RE-dub it and make it less...kiddy. Besides, SM was aimed for a teenage audience. >.>
SM was my absolute favorite show when I was little and got me into anime (Along with Tenchi Muyo), but after you see the original Japanese version of it, you don't WANT the dub to come back, at least not the way it was in the 90's.
It better be re-dubbed from the beginning for people it targeted if they want Naoko Takeuchi to give them back dubbing rights. She's an artist, and they murdered her work; I don't blame her.
You'd have to bitch at Toei if you want Sailor Moon back in the States. Although you'd have a better chance at finding a cure for cancer than getting the licensing rights from Toei.
The license to broadcast sailor moon and dub the last season was taken away by Naoko Takeuchi herself. She was disgusted by the butchered series that was made into the english dub. That is why it will never be on cartoon network again. What you SHOULD be asking for is a totally redubbed show for the age it was aimed for (teenagers and adults, not toddlers) and for it to be aired on Adult Swim. THEN, MAYBE, we will have it back.
If you really want to bring Sailor Moon back, (I would really love for it to come back myself) you need to ask Naoko Takeuchi. She is the creator of Sailor Moon and currently has all the rights to it. I'm sure telling CN might make them try to convince Naoko to bring it back, but in the end its up to her.
The license for Sailor Moon has expired everywhere in the world, except Japan. The reasons are not because of how the dub was badly made, it was because they wanted to promote the Sailor Moon Live Action that was showing in Japan back in 2003-2004. Now that is over, so everything has ended. No more Sailor Moon anywhere. I love the show too and would love to see it again, but it will probably never happen until maybe its 25th anniversary? or 50th? to promote it. Who knows, it might be back again
Its great to see that there are still fans out there that want to bring the show back. Petitions and showing how much you love the show is a good thing, since companies will see there is still interest. Maybe one day they can convince the creator of the series to once again let Sailor Moon be shown around the world whether by tv, dvds, merchandise, etc.. I believe we will see her again one day, until then I will enjoy my dvds.
The problem is that Naoko Takeuchi (the creator of the series) and the publishers can't com to an agreement. We will not get it back by signing a couple of annoying petitions. What will the petitions accomplish? They will, for one, annoy people. I can't come up with anything else they'll do. Sending the petitions to netwoks, publishers etc. won't help since they don't have a license to air Sailor Moon. Sending them to Naoko Takeuchi won't help either since she doesn't speak English at all.

sailormoon rocks so much. I don't have a problem with it being off air because i dont watch tv.. but I would really like to see some new stuff (which isn't gonna happen unfortunetely). I have one thing to say.Those of you who are watching CN On Europe/UK,You Guys might not know what Sailor Moon means because Sailor Moon was not yet aired on Cartoon Network on Europe/UK.If you are form Japan will know much about it.
TOONAMI's last "real" year was 2001. After that it sucked. AND IT STILL SUCKS. The worst decision they made was moving to "SATURDAY'S ONLY" Not to mention eliminating the shows that made them famous in the first place. Today, the only shows I watch are BLEACH and CODE GEASS. But there is nothing else that entertains me. Ive already seen Inuyasha twice COMPLETELY. Anime in the US has fallen in the last 5-6 years unfortunately.

Anyway, 90s shows would have to go to BOOMERANG. I mean were talking 15 years since SM (SM started in 1992). Regardless, Cartoon Network would not bring the show back. The chances that SM will ever come back is slim.

was it because of her choice of religion that takeuchi-sensei had to take the rights of "Sailor Moon" back because if it were "Mysteries Solved:3010"(my own project) and i were in a similar situation. I'd see this as kinda pointless.

No. Toei still airs Sailor Moon on TV [on a premium channel]. Naoko didnt take the rights away because they are still selling Sailor Moon DVDS in Japan.

If she hasn't then there's not much we can do maybe she should just find someone else like Gainax to do it. I miss this series and have. This really brought back memorys to me that I have forgotten. This series is MUCH BETTER than Astroboy from the 1980's. I mean, The 1980's astroboy's mouth movement is way way WAY OFF!

Oh my,... Panty shots scares me but yeah, even that was a part of the show but, If you enjoyed watching the show then just buy the dvds.. It's an old show and it's finished. That and Usagi wasn't really a good heroine, she was getting kidnapped... it's A show in the past, and We have to try to avoid a sequal anime that sucks like yu-gi-oh GX ...
Sorry to say, but they won't put this show back on the air. Really, all you can do is look on the internet for past episodes. They don't even play this show anymore, anywhere. Plus, the rights this show is really tight.

Sailor Moon (the uncut version) was originally for elementary school girls.

It won't be brought back. US lost rights to air it. Even though I liked the show a lot and I'm still a huge fan...the should try to get something worked out and RE-dub it and make it less...kiddy. Besides, SM was aimed for a teenage audience. >.>

SM was my absolute favorite show when I was little and got me into anime (Along with Tenchi Muyo), but after you see the original Japanese version of it, you don't WANT the dub to come back, at least not the way it was in the 90's.
It better be re-dubbed from the beginning for people it targeted if they want Naoko Takeuchi to give them back dubbing rights. She's an artist, and they murdered her work; I don't blame her.

The license to broadcast sailor moon and dub the last season was taken away by Naoko Takeuchi herself. She was disgusted by the butchered series that was made into the english dub. That is why it will never be on cartoon network again. What you SHOULD be asking for is a totally redubbed show for the age it was aimed for (teenagers and adults, not toddlers) and for it to be aired on Adult Swim. THEN, MAYBE, we will have it back.

If you really want to bring Sailor Moon back, (I would really love for it to come back myself) you need to ask Naoko Takeuchi. She is the creator of Sailor Moon and currently has all the rights to it. I'm sure telling CN might make them try to convince Naoko to bring it back, but in the end its up to her.

The license for Sailor Moon has expired everywhere in the world, except Japan. The reasons are not because of how the dub was badly made, it was because they wanted to promote the Sailor Moon Live Action that was showing in Japan back in 2003-2004. Now that is over, so everything has ended. No more Sailor Moon anywhere. I love the show too and would love to see it again, but it will probably never happen until maybe its 25th anniversary? or 50th? to promote it. Who knows, it might be back again

Its great to see that there are still fans out there that want to bring the show back. Petitions and showing how much you love the show is a good thing, since companies will see there is still interest. Maybe one day they can convince the creator of the series to once again let Sailor Moon be shown around the world whether by tv, dvds, merchandise, etc.. I believe we will see her again one day, until then I will enjoy my dvds.

The problem is that Naoko Takeuchi (the creator of the series) and the publishers can't com to an agreement. We will not get it back by signing a couple of annoying petitions. What will the petitions accomplish? They will, for one, annoy people. I can't come up with anything else they'll do. Sending the petitions to netwoks, publishers etc. won't help since they don't have a license to air Sailor Moon. Sending them to Naoko Takeuchi won't help either since she doesn't speak English at all.

sailor moon most likely wont ever air back on tv in america... the owner of the rights is toei animation.. and they lockdown sailor moon strictly only to japan, but once their contract is up with sailor moon.. many companies like tokyopop and geneon have already said they would try bringing it back to america

Hey guys I LOVE sailor moon as much as any Sailor Moon fan like I was obsessed with it and still am...I got really sad when they stopped airing it because I went overseas around the last time they aired it and I didn't know that was the last time so yeah BUT anyway I've read on many sites that the only reason english speaking coutnries aren't airing sailor moon is because they've lost rights to it and that's why but i really wish it would come back on tv :(

sailormoon rocks so much. I don't have a problem with it being off air because i dont watch tv.. but I would really like to see some new stuff (which isn't gonna happen unfortunetely). If you wanna see it just download it by bittorrent or buy a japanese dvd with subs off ebay. subs have better voice actors and sounds anyways.. just you have to read them.

TOONAMI's last "real" year was 2001. After that it sucked. AND IT STILL SUCKS. The worst decision they made was moving to "SATURDAY'S ONLY" Not to mention eliminating the shows that made them famous in the first place. Today, the only shows I watch are BLEACH and CODE GEASS. But there is nothing else that entertains me. Ive already seen Inuyasha twice COMPLETELY. Anime in the US has fallen in the last 5-6 years unfortunately.

Anyway, 90s shows would have to go to BOOMERANG. I mean were talking 15 years since SM (SM started in 1992). Regardless, Cartoon Network would not bring the show back. The chances that SM will ever come back is slim.

You have a much better chance getting it on Boomerang then Cartoon Network because Boomerang was made for old skool cartoons like Sailor Moon.

They won't air it anymore.
Naoko did not like what Cartoon Network was doing to the show for what ever reasons. Plus the show is really old and dated.
If you want to watch it just go buy some DVD's or download the show off of Limewire or something.
Cartoon Network or Boomerang don't have the power to air the show...it's up to Naoko to give that que.

was it because of her choice of religion that takeuchi-sensei had to take the rights of "Sailor Moon" back because if it were "Mysteries Solved:3010"(my own project) and i were in a similar situation. I'd see this as kinda pointless.

Okay everyone might as well stop at the end of this video, go out buy what you can find left and not even try this. They aren't going to put it back on even if you beg. They can't the license expired and they can't renew it because no company in Japan has it either. Naoko took that privledge from Toei because he was arguing with her on how to animate it. So if anything write to Naoko at whatever address she lives at.

No. Toei still airs Sailor Moon on TV [on a premium channel]. Naoko didnt take the rights away because they are still selling Sailor Moon DVDS in Japan.

If she hasn't then there's not much we can do maybe she should just find someone else like Gainax to do it. As for the Stars season I'd prefere it not be dubbed & murdered like the other 4 seasons T.T

That and Usagi wasn't really a good heroine, she was getting kidnapped... it's A show in the past, and We have to try to avoid a sequal anime that sucks like yu-gi-oh GX ...

Sorry to say, but they won't put this show back on the air. Really, all you can do is look on the internet for past episodes. They don't even play this show anymore, anywhere. Plus, the rights this show is really tight.
It's a lost cause trying to get this show back on the air. Try to get another show.
