cool.you have essentially created what is called a motion comic,I think this is the future of the medium.I have some similar shorts on my channel featuring star wars and conan the barbarian
I was 9 years old when I read Batman´s origin in a reprinted comic. The original strip still impresses me nowadays. Bob Kane´s style was simple, but effective.
Basically my process consists of scanning the comic book panels art work and then using a photoshop programme to edit out the speech balloons and shaping it to a standard frame size.
From this panel we make multiple copies which have differences ie mouth movement, lights flashing, objects entering/leaving frame etc. I then use a simple animation programme like the one that comes with Jasc Photoshop to make an animation cycle in gif format, save this then save it as an avi file.
The avi file can then be put into a simple or complex editing programme and the various cycles used to make the scenes. Dub on sound, extract the finished file and you got your movie
Well I've got other projects underway but there's nothing to stop you doing it yourself. This animation process can be done by anyone who can edit a photograph.
Thanks. You will see the teaser trailer for "Dan Dare-Pilot of the Future" on the home page, I intend to do that in this way also, together with some CGI work provided it fits in. It is also possible for anyone who can use photoshop to do this type on animation, I'd like to see other classic comics done the same way.
Very nice. I grew up with those animations from Marvel comics like the captain america, thor, hulk etc... all in this same style of animation. It really took me back. Great work. I encourage you to make more like this.
Hi Russell, I just wanted to say congratulations to you on the end result of this project, your animation of Bat Man: Terror of the Monk is truly wonderful, and hugely entertaining. I was proud to be the voice of Bat Man/Bruce Wayne and I have to say, the rest of the voice cast have all done a fantastic job, too, a very, very talented group of people! Again, very proud to be part of it and well done to you. I think it's a real gem!
a little injoke on my part ;)

Is that Doctor Fredrick Wertham? That quack? Didn't he label Batman and Robin as gay?
