Been arguing that the health care bill was for insurance companies for months and all the pro health care wouldn't listen. Of course they want this reform it makes it illegal for people not to have insurance, the coverage by the gov option is going to cost tax payers $14,000 per family per year that it covers. As it stands now I pay 1/4 of that for decent coverage for my family, how is this better?

I live in Massachussetts. Romneys little project sucks. It would be more expensive to get insurance (even through the state) Than to pay the fine. I take care of a family member and get a small (living) stipend for doing so. Looking into the program last tax time it would cost more for the state option than the fine (which I am not eligible for because I do not make enough money.) I can't imagine that the tax isn't a burden on the majority of families below poverty

Perhaps the demand from progressives should change from "no bill without a public option" to "no mandate without a public option." The reason is this: no matter what we won't be able to block a bill; the House Dems will eventually yield and accept a bill with no public option. But maybe there is a chance we can prevent the complete disaster of a mandate without a public option, so at least the bill does a lot less *harm* than it would otherwise.
The public option only covers like one percent, if you have insurance now you wont be able to buy it. I love how all you people have not realized that the public option that was originally pitched by obama has been off the table for about a month now.

I make $70k and live in DC. Its certainly enough to live somewhat comfortably, but I'm extremely far from rich. And I'm single and childless. I'd be pretty hardup if I had a family.
The country is so far too the right that "supporters for the Public Option" are sadly written off as "radical leftists." If Americans were truly political moderate, this would be the position of our elected officials. Ideally, conservative Republicans should actually be in favor of the Public Option. Blue dog Democrats (or centrists) should really be for Single Payer National Health Insurance. Progressive Democrats (or the liberal left) should favor a UK style National Health Service.

I live in Massachussetts. Romneys little project sucks. It would be more expensive to get insurance (even through the state) Than to pay the fine. I take care of a family member and get a small (living) stipend for doing so. Looking into the program last tax time it would cost more for the state option than the fine (which I am not eligible for because I do not make enough money.) I can't imagine that the tax isn't a burden on the majority of families below poverty

Perhaps the demand from progressives should change from "no bill without a public option" to "no mandate without a public option." The reason is this: no matter what we won't be able to block a bill; the House Dems will eventually yield and accept a bill with no public option. But maybe there is a chance we can prevent the complete disaster of a mandate without a public option, so at least the bill does a lot less *harm* than it would otherwise.

Insurance companies have massive investments in commercial and industrial real estate for example. "truly understand" might be a bit too much to ask from certain americans, but i hope they atleast listened to the end of it where it was mentioned that they atleast should try it.
