  • lol, its numbers 69. Such a shame for thise Mk2ds they could bee put to such good use

  • Interesting video, thanks for sharing

  • @enjay1976 your welcome and glad you liked

  • Very interesting video, thanks for posting!

  • @britishbulldog5505 Thanks mate glad you liked

  • what locomotive is that @ 3:14?

  • @dust478 I think this is shunter 12082 owned by the Harry Needle Rail Company

  • out with the new in with the old ( my motto )

  • Everyones complaining about these diesels but the government want to get rid of hst's!!! we should be worrying about them and see if we can preserve a set for riltours.

  • @KWVRMAD valid point

  • Scrapping the 56s(and the 58s) is criminal,we(the taxpayers)paid for them and why? the 56s are hellfire but even worse 15 year old class 60s are being withdrawn

DBS s heaviest hauler class 66s are shite.

  • Cool, a 69er.

  • I know that the second coach in the consist is under restoration the Mid-Norfolk-Railway.

  • Waste of two good locos

  • 56011 was scrapped at Booths, Rotherham in April this year. 56021 was scrapped in July at Thompsons, Stockton - nothing happened to either in 2007 other than being stored.

  • the 56's were probably donors for other 56's still in service

  • are they on the way to the train graveyard?

  • Why is it the put the windows in in scrap coaches, is it to stop people living in them?

  • interesting video. Enjoyed watching it. How did you know the train was coming?

  • the 56s are in a sorry state!

  • The last 4 Mk.2 coaches looked in perfectly good condition could have easily made it to preservation or departmental usage, but no they go and scrap it instead...why waste such good stock when all these modern TOC's are currently have stock shortages?? First Scotrail and First Great Western have the righe idea in mind as they are both running Loco-Hauled services with Mark 2 Coaches

  • In The Title I say that I presume this lot will be scrapped.I meant the 56,s and the first rake of coaches. The last 4 coaches were used for brakeforce and went back with the 33 so they were not scrapped.Watch the whole clip and towards the end you will see what I mean.Cheers

  • I used to live not so far from Hither Green where some of this class lived. It's good to hear the engine notes again! "Relatively early withdrawal" was BR's policy in the 80s. Looks like it failed - fortunately for these dependable workhorses. Thanks for this video!

  • 56011 (EWS) and 56021 (Load-Haul). Had a poke around them while they were stored at Mantle Lane. Absolutely fucked inside - they've definitely been scrapped.

  • "Absolutely fucked inside" lol

  • those coaches look like shit

  • ddfd

  • yuyu

  • i doubt the mk2s will be scrapped duno bout the 56s

  • they arnt being scrapped there only being stored belive me this lot will be up for sale before being taken for scrap because we know they still have their uses but it quite ironic how i class 33 manages to keep itself on the mainline towing dead stock.

  • It sounds like there are some flats on the wheels of the last wagon, or someones left a handbrake on.

  • Well, since EWS took over our railways you will see more sights like this.

  • like the br blue coaches

  • so what about the 56 are they getting scraped or moth balled

  • Not sure but they were pretty rough.Would be nice to see go for preservation but i dont think that will happen ,Would love to be proven wrong

  • aye becuse there are things agoing aound the 66's arnt living upto there shed, soz name, so there was thoughs to bring back some 58's and 56's

  • Great piece of video... I hate to say the same as everyone else, but it is very poignant. Thanks for recording the day and sharing it.

  • Nice video... I hate to say the same as everyone else, but it is very sad. Thanks for recording the day.

  • Your very welcome

  • 56021 and 56011. Ex FM stuff, they were stored unserviceable at Mantle Lane in Coalville. Any coach without a window was there too.

  • ahh heard bout this move but to far away for me.. great though

  • Odd looking sad train. I bet steam railways could do with a few of those Mark 2s!

  • Poigniant, but great video. 5* and favourited.

  • Great Video - even though its sad - (5*)
