I had brainstorm this same concept for several weeks now.... Its simple physics as adding a pulley reduces the load. So why could you not have a chain running on several axis it can run back to front back to front then front to back 3 times. Each time adding an axis or pulley. It would require a flywheel on 2 pulleys and then a clutch to disengage on a handlebar. Because the amount of energy generated would be expodential. Reducing energy required by increase pulleys. Basic physics here.
