That IS his normal voice. Every interview, every song he's ever sung has the same voice. He's done that from the very beginning when he first appeared to the country on American Idol where the judges even commented on it and he seemed a little thrown off as if he didn't know he did it or couldn't explain it.

Yeah, I totally agree with the "beautiful" thing. I don't usually say something like that, because I'd get teased forever that I have a crush on that person or something. But yeah, day to day, I find myself realizing how beautiful some people are. It's like I'm finally appreciating God's works of art. Its great that a show like idol can uncover such a magnificent talent like Josiah. I don't really like all the bs of idol but there is no other way I would ever have got to hear of this kid. Sure he didn't fit the idol mainstream stereotype and for that reason was never going to win. this song in my opinion is one of the most unique inspirational performances I have heard in a long time.
