had a gs550ef as a first bike,then a ninja 750 and a hurricane 600,tried 1 of those ns400 bikes,not my thing,suspension was hard and had to send rpm through the roof to get power

I had one, an 87, and when I drove through tunnels I would open the visir on the helmet to really dig the sound echoing from the tunnel walls. It sounded so wonderful, that bike! (later it was stolen and the thief had a fatal accident with it..the bike was totally wrecked..a tragedy. I kinda' felt bad for the thief too, even though I didn't know the guy. :(

there was a guy in the uk who used to tune,350lc,500lc,rg,x7....and so on ... i think he did a 470cc kit. as big as you could go because it had nikasil bores and could,nt be bored bigger...i think his name was swarbrick

Sounds very crisp! Got one myself, really love this bikes. Faboulus bikes for their time. Actually the first sportsbike with "modern" geometry. Properly adjusted and set up with a VFR400R NC30 reardamper you keep up with modern 600 sportbikes on twisty roads.
