Couldn't pay to keep the site up. Even Google is losing money trying to keep it running. Sorry but even the ads that annoy you so much aren't enough to pay for it and I'm sure Google will cut it off within a year or two, they just have no reason to continue with site that they are losing money to. So enjoy the ads, they are the only things delaying the inevitable.
@january301973 what ads? i have ad block plus it totally blocks every ad even vevo commercials and other sites. i use friends pc's sometimes and i'm like how can you deal with this crap!
