If you were on Xbox, I'd recommend you switch control stick layout for helicopters to "Legacy." Since you're on the computer, however... Yeah, I have no idea where you should start. I flew like a pro the moment I customized the controls, though. If you have any way of doing the same, then don't forget to make the helicopter fit to YOUR controls... Not you to its. You're letting that machine pwn you as it is.

Pretty sure this was everyone's first experience with the helicopter. I've been flying shit since Battlefield 1942. I'm part of a still active BF Vietnam helicopter clan (as in we have maps & mods made for flying) & yet I still struggle with the damn helicopters in BF3. They're just wonky as all hell on console. The controls just don't seem as responsive as in previous Battlefield games.

if i remember right, mouse controls balance and is used for movement. the problem is the game never explains it and new players will about always waste the chopper. there should be an offline test run for air veicles

Lol, Japs are one of the worst drivers there can be. I am Chinese but I fly really good between high, medium and low altitudes and I even shoot down enemy jets, I also shoot enemy helis and I always win if my aim is good and I know when to activate the flares.
