He becomes even worse than Peter had been (since black-suit pete was like his normal behavior) and becomes the representation of the dark-side of Peter explored throughout the entire film. Peter fighting that is him conquering the evil that corrupted him.
Topher Grace was cast for this reason. He resembles Tobey Maguire.

I love the visual effects and the way they protray venom in this movie but the chracter needed way more development. The fight scene and cause of death was epic!

In 90's animated series there were only 3 episodes with him

@pablotheepic i know but WAIT A MINUTE i thought they only had to start over on sm4 not cancel it! if i were them i'd have spiderman 4 where the volture looks for norman but doesn't know he's dead then have carnage come out of nowhere but as the movie goes on you learn a lot more about carnage then carnage get's defeated but his symbiot gets on the volture then you know what's next
All the venom scenes in this are under ten minutes? And half of it is Eddie. And will Eddie keep his venom mask on for ONE FUCKING SECOND? Serously, why take it off so much?

They new Spider-Man movie won't be Spider-Man 4 but a reboot completely ignoring the previous films retelling Peter Parker backstory Spider-Man's origins, Carnage might appear in one of the sequels to the reboot but its unlikely because of the way fans responded to the way Venom was treated in this movie.
but of course if a friend of mine made me lose my job and my girlfriend i think when the only thing that would allow me to get even was about to explode... id want to explode with it.
