  • Ska is just punk with the addition of trumpets. You still get your soda in a can, it's just now you get to drink your soda in a can with a straw. Either way, it's trash.

  • favorite cover of this song... great party track...

  • I played trumpet on this track and can officially say it is indeed "The Berlin Project".

    R.I.P. John Ryan Garrighan

  • How does it sound like a punk band, it's ska. I think it sounds most like buck o nine

  • @Imakeyouquit

It is TBP, not Mustard Plug, I have an original copy of TBP's Run for the Border and this track is on there.

  • THANK FUCK FOR SKA!

  • @27natedogg1 how? it shows that people other than "gangsters" listen to snoop and like his music. i dont see how its disgraceful in anyway shape or form

  • First heard this version on a NoFriends dvd

  • i found this song twice on limewire a while back ...one time it was by NOX the other time it said Mustard plug.i know for sure its not neither of those..........

  • @djjake You obviously haven't listened to alot of Sublime I take it

  • always thought this was sublime until tonight

  • @dookie99dookie its the berlin project

  • its a punk cover, not rap cover. its gonna sound nothing alike minus the lyrics dumbfucks.

  • Completely ruined. I know it's a cover but this doesn't even preserve a similar feel to the original.

  • John Garrighan died?

if yes -Rest in Peace- i don't know much of his music, but i know he was a young father. it's just so sad that so many (good) people die young.

best wishes to his family. may god hold him close

  • Rest in Peace - John Ryan Garrighan - My band Collision played with the band back in 1998 in the middle of no where. Best wishes to your family.

  • @waltprorok hey bro, was john garrighan the vocalist from the berlin project??

  • @mbphofan yeah man he was

  • @mbphofan damn i hate to hear that r.i.p. Ive been looking for their music everywhere. I had one of their albums on a burnt CD in like 2001

  • john, you'll always be my rockstar. xo

  • John,

You will be missed dearly. You were an inspiration to many and loved by all that knew you. I will forever hold the memories of you close to my heart. Rest in peace dear friend. I will see you on the other side someday.

    Love You,

    Andrea

  • John,

May the earth rise up to meet you

May winds be strongly at your back

And sun shine warm upon your face

    And until we meet again

May God's love hold you close

    RIP

  • isn't it NOFX ?

  • @BrandonLeSann

  • My brothers friend played in this band once.

  • wow only good shit yall got all the outher shit is EMO and HOMO shit keep this up and yall kick ass outher wise yall sell outs

  • haha i found this song on limewire as sublime and it didnt sound like sublime so i googled it and the berlin project came up...props lol this song is ill

  • As a Sublime Fan, you can tell this is definitely NOT Bradley's voice. LOL

  • money on my mind

  • @blobbel666 yeah fuck you

  • How do you get a hold of this version??

    Can't find it!

  • WTF?????????????????

  • This is 5 times better than the original song by snoop dogg

  • i saw these guys at x fest in 99. they were awesome.

  • whish they did more stuff like this... the trumpet is terrific!

  • fab! wish they did more stuff like that

  • this is not the berlin project i dont know who it is but this masterpiece of ska beand covering hip hop song, is not them! i cont care what proof you have it isnt them

  • @Blammeth This is the Berlin Project.

  • @Blammeth

I think I might have enough proof. Google it or just take my word for it. It's me singig.

    John G. (TBP 1995-2005)

  • @johngarrighan haha the funny things is i could care less, but yeah i found out it was berlin project before you said anything, i should remove my comment but eh, whatever :P

  • This Band Honestly Couldn't ick More Ass

  • (got my mind on my money and my money on my mind)

  • Awful

  • It's not fucking LoC,It's the Berlin project, He has a different vocal style to Stza.

  • the way he sings this song sounds like sun down now by asking for it

  • Holy shit...this is completely awful.

  • They were so much better as a punk/ska band compared to Blink 182

  • best road trip song

  • someone thinks thumper from boston covered this ahaaaahaha learn punk/ska tards

  • This Is a song covered by leftovercrack are you kidding me, berlin project wtf?????

Their not tight enough to do a sick cover like this,

and if you think isnt the band leftover crack listen to their song and listen to the singers voice ediots hahaha

  • You seem like an expert.

  • @JD083008

man youre a fool. this ain't stza.

  • I love having a legacy of 15 minutes of fame with a novelty cover from 1998. Hell. I'll take it. I'm going to start playing ska punk again. People always liked those TBP albums.

    John Garrighan

    TBP

  • this isnt the berlin project... its CLEARLY thumper from boston. you obviously dont know what you are talking about. have you even seen the berlin project play? those guys couldnt have pulled this off... wasnt one of their names like tacomeat? or supernacho? either way... NOT the berlin project.

    adam-

  • @dinoriffical what do you mean sublime ive heard this cover by the berlin project this i was like 14

  • @dinoriffical Ska != Sublime.

  • Theres videos on here of Berlin Project playing this song, so obviouslyyyyyyy.....

  • i'm holding the CD this is on in my hand and it reads BERLIN PROJECT

  • oh yeaaaaaaaaa 13

  • where can i download this

  • best version

  • amazing

  • yeah...lol it sort of sounds like them....you never really know what they are going to do either

  • ya thats what limewire told me

  • no way

  • you've obviously never listened to NOFX.

  • pretty good

  • dude you guys are crazy

    those vocals are pretty sick

  • ya I learned that soon after making that comment

  • Mustard Plug cover, not Berlin Project

  • No disrespect to Mustard Plug. They made some great records. But this is TBP(both bands from time to time played shows together around the US). This was recorded in mid 90's on an album called Running For The Boarder. Only 1000 ever printed. Long out of print. If you like TBP's ska stuff you want an album called Culture Clash. It's still available through all major online outlets. But that is mostly from when we were teenagers in the 90's. But this cover did very well during file sharin

  • This is made by MUSTARD PLUG

not this Crappy PoS "Berlin project" band.

  • Comment removed

  • i like his voice

  • I loved the original Ska version of the Berlin Project. I originally heard their song mall cop on the old Napster. I bought a few their albums and their newest one was completely different. Overall, I think the band is broken up for good now.

  • this is so much bertter that the real song by snoop dog

  • Agreed

  • Yes

  • no, it's not

  • yeah... it is

  • but the other versions kick a bunch of ass too.

  • @AKRUSTYTURD fuck you motherfucker

  • It is indeed The Berlin Project. I recorded this when I was 14. On an out of print record. I have been thinking of puting one on you tube for fun 12 years later. But that's TBP with me singing. John Garrighan.

  • Comment removed

  • Do it.

  • @johngarrighan fuck you too

  • @johngarrighan So you were like 14 when you sang this? COOL

  • It's incredibly old Berlin Project... like the first CD they released.... before 03 for sure cause i was still in HS when they were playing shows around here... Hell i am not even sure if they were even all out of high school when this was recorded

  • more along the lines of around 97-99 if i remember correct. i was still in middle school first time i heard it

  • the voice doen not sound like berlin project at all and im almost alot shure that they used the less than jake horn section and a diffrent singer but the rest of the guys from the berlin project, dont yell at me if im wrong but im pretty shure its that

  • so, anyone agreed if this cover is by NOFX, berlin project or "mustard plug"? heard the first 2 mentioned tons of times on different sites, the last one metioned in a bunch of commnets here on youTube..

  • deff berlin project.

  • whoever that thinks this is sublime deserves the douche bag of the day award from sxephil

  • yeah... sublime is my favorite band of all time, and in no way, other than its ska, does it sound the same... its like comparing elvis to chuck berry!!! POW to the NED

  • i agree with you do you know where i can buy this song

  • unfortunately being that i was only 5 when these guys came about, i never saw them with the horns, and i did catch one of their final shows after jon belan came in. i don't think they had a song that wasn't catchy/good, be it ska, or punk or whatever u wanna call it, all the old stuff i had has been lost and i'm pissed about it, all i have left is the things we say which was great, point being, this band was great, is still great, and johnny, an 09 re-release would be amazing

  • u know what, i may have lied, i don't remember exactly when belan came in, i know i saw them tho, early 04, but i can't remember alot of it, i may recall a chant for taco bell world, but who knows, 4 years does my memory no justice

  • This isnt sublime retards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tune

  • <3[:

  • Was surprised to hear this played at the bowling alley i work at lol.

  • this is hilarious.

  • man they should have kept to the ska

  • This song is so good and im glad to see that the band is getting recognized. I wish that TBP kept to their ska roots, they could've been famous

  • i was told this was sublime and i beleived it....thats how good it is

  • thats just how much of an idiot you are. anyone can tell thats not bradley nowell singing. granted this song is great. but it wont top sublime or even be on the same level as them.

    r.i.p.

  • yeah i suppose but i aint been listnin to em that long cos im only 13 and my sister just got me into em.but this is still a good song

  • r.i.p lou dog and brad.

  • my favorite version as it IS the best. richard cheese did something there but he lost the original rythym. props to the few of you who know or like this song. punks unite!

  • So if I and some of the original members of TBP from the 90's re-released Culture Clash with an updated cover of Gin and Juice for the 10 year anniversary in 2009 would anyone still care?

  • i would, best cover i've heard for like a good 5 years

  • do this now. this song is awesome.

  • I'd likely be all about it, as in the last ten years my copies of both Culture Clash and Runnin' for the Border are too scratched to play. And because TBP shows at Laga before the horn section departed were some of the first I'd ever gone to. As one of the lame purists, I never really listened to much after that, but that's just me. So you'd sell at the very least one copy.

  • that would be awesome

  • y i gettin thumbs down i beleived it thats how good it is

  • you suck this is sick

  • Dont be hatin

  • Whats the name of the album????

  • Where is the original????

  • loll

  • dude this song is soooo good! it comes up on frostwire as a mustard plug song. glad to give some recognition to the true creators finally

  • I would just like to comment: I did this song as a joke at a practice in 1996 or 1997 with TBP's original bass player addlibbing rap songs over the chord progression. I think it is flattering to see people covering our cover. I would also like to have a greater legacy than the guy from that band that covered Snoop. But something beats nothing.

    John Garrighan(The Berlin Project 1995-2005)

  • after Culture clash the band went down hill

  • where do i get this song?!??!?!??!

    its awsome

  • audacity

  • just learned this badass bass line

  • awesomeeee

  • this isent nofx:) this is punk ska covers XD

  • new favorite song

    haha

    love it :D

    ska right?

  • On a lot of Torrent/Download programs this is "authored" by NOFX. That is false, this is Berlin Project, but the reason for the confusion stims from the mislabeling.
