@philsooakbabies Haha well I tried this out and realised its a loooot harder than it looks. especially if you are sculpting a specific person. How long does it usually take you to sculpt a head such as this?
@tuuexx I use glass eyes which are safe in the oven. I stock them in my shop. I've tried the acrylic eyes which are said to be oven safe at 135C but they tend to go dull in the oven. Sorry for the late reply, hope it helps LOL
this might be a little of topic but what is the name of this song. it only says who sings it p.s. the baby is so cool you should make a tutorial i have so many problems and all the tutorials on youtube have only pics not vids of the making of ooak babies

your baby's face is ugly! and his head is all lumpy... You should probably try harder and take more time. I wouldn't be proud of that when other people can make a baby look as if cast in stone. And the baby's face does look like an albino african
I am a self taught sculptor. I don't sculpt all my heads in the same way, I like to build up the clay in different styles to create various expressions
I think your work is amazing if i were rich i would buy 20 mikas from you he was so good to make he is lovely he is mummied so much like me cause he s like a little boy i couldnt have but always wanted cause i have missed out on having kids. Thanks Phil Keep going
Hi! You are really good! I have made my first baby head from polymer clay and I have a question for you.. how do you attach the head to the body? The babies on your wedsite are so nice!
Have you ever made a mold with your sculpt? like all the artists out there who have made vinyl kits with their sculpts.

are you able to bake it with those plastic eyes? or did you just left it unbaked?
acidfriend47 1 year ago
@acidfriend47
I only use glass eyes in my clay babies. I've never had any luck with the plastic eyes, they always melt.

Hi. With the small babies, I just tie around the neck with string, and I use cable ties for the bigger babies. Thanks!

what is the white stuff your working over? i use tin foil under but i dont really like it...i guess tin foil is better then bare wire
AlmightyBungholio9 3 years ago 2
Hi. The white stuff is a styrofoam head form, but tin foil is also fine. I've just posted a new head sculpting tutorial on my wesite.
Thanks for looking!
