Hey I have a Q: How do you go up to the next octave on the note side without making the drone go up, or does it always stay at the same octave in the drone no matter how hard you blow?
@Meredith1301 The drone side does indeed jump up to the next octave if you blow slightly harder. In order to avoid that AND play notes in the 2nd octave on the melody side, you have to shift the flute so that you're not focusing as much air through the drone. It's actually quite easy once you play around with it a little.
II just bought one and cant wait for it to arrive. I have had RA for 28 years, and even my old twisted fingers can play the Native American flute; I am hoping I will be able to play the drone as well.
I dont play as well as you, but it sure fills my spirit with joy when I do play!
Very magical, these flutes!
BTW I love watching your hands play, as I learn a lot from you. (smile)
YOU need one of these! Granted, they're a slightly different animal than the regular flutes, and sometimes they can be a little tricky; having to reach over that wide body makes this one a little harder to play than the Odell Borg split A-shaped drones. That said, the results are more than worth it.

is that a digerdoo with key holes in it in the background?

@etard82 No, that is in fact an F# contrabass Native American-style flute made by High spirits. I've done a number of videos using that flute.
