  • esa canción es estrezante...

  • Fantastisch. Danke.

Merci. Gheorghij

  • mafia 2 brought u here probably not but it brought me lol luv tht game

    :P

  • Please, could you explain me the *credits* I'm sorry that I'm so stupid.

Anyway, than you very much for comparing this song. MAybe it is becasue I'm used to Piaf's version - I like most. I know it is ot here, but I was ver surprised with Charles Aznavour's presentation! And last notice - if you do, I'm sorry - but do you know that the first Edith's picture is not Edith Piaf, but Marion Cotillard in the role of Édith Piaf ? :-)

  • Good point. By credits I meant the songwriters' names. I didn't have a record to look at.

I didn't know about the picture - thanks a lot.

  • Thank you for the explanation. And you're welcome ;-) Have a good time!

  • Funny, I never knew that the Laine song was not an original in English.

I can't imagine what Piaf is singing. The lyrics--at least in Englsih--seem like the song can only be for a man to sing.

  • I believe GeoSilverMore has the time sequence reversed. "Jezebel" was composed by an American, Wayne Shanklin, and was a big hit for Laine in 1951. Charles Aznavour wrote the French lyrics for it and Piaf recorded it some months after Laine's recording. Piaf, by the way, was actually younger than Laine, though her career as a star began much earlier than Laine's ( He was quite popular in France, by the way).

  • That makes sense.

Laine was older than Sinatra, but by the time he hit it big in 1947, Sinatra was a veteran star. It's amazing that Laine was able to last as long as he did, given his late "start". I guess he was lucky to find his niche doing cowboy/outlaw songs, even if that wasn't his background or his real love!

  • Okay thanks I'll look into that. I do not have an original with credits. Piaf originated so many songs like Autumn Leaves and The Three Bells.

  • I see that you're a Frank Ifield fan. I always liked his voice as did my late mother.
