A young kitten will do these movements to stimulate the flow of milk when suckling its mother. In the adult cat it is a subconscious memory of feeling comfort and safety.

I call this kneading or making bread and my Rag "Mickey" does the same thing. He especially loves to sleep under the covers with me and tries kneading my legs.. Not a great feeling. Your kitten is gorgeous!

i heard ragdoll cats shed less than other cats. how much do they really shed? like when they rub against your leg is there a layer of hair stuck to your pants like a tabby cat? cause i really want a cat but we used to have a tabby cat and my dad went crazy with the hair.

@freddyphredphred ; these cats desire a lot of attention/affection. Leave with a family member for weekends..otherwise, it's like leaving a baby in the crib with plenty of milk bottles. :(

My cat who is a blue bi color does the same thing except he does it to me - on my arm. Anyone can tell why they doing it? interesting to know. Who ever made that negative comment must not an animal lover.

I think it is something they do to the mother's nipples to get the milk flowing and they keep doing it throughout life because it feels good!
