i have tested all the rumors personally and the ender pearl does nothing at all. In creative you can hit a mob from far away as a rule with or without the pearl.

I would suggest that you keep the house that you have at the edge of the desert as a supply shack, in case you want to explore the desert, want to stock up some food or building materials, etc.

EPIC....... love that ravine.... not sure how you are going to get up and down.. but I had a thought, you could make a column of water so you can swim up and down possibly a little easier (and prettier than a staircase) because I thought it might help to preserve the beauty of the ravine (while you are raping it for resources) :D

I love your location for a house, but you should build your house at the top of the ravine hanging into it. That way you have easy access to the ravine and the top world. Also it would be a cool view from inside if you build a floor of room out of glass.

Explore the part at the bottom of the lava&waterfall, it looks awesome. Also, your base is pretty damn kewl.

1.8 was a great update, I've been loving it so far for all it has: Creative mode, ravines, mineshafts, villages and what not.

What I hope for next is a doodad-update. Houses still often look a little bald in my opinion ;)

You should make a little shaft leading to the surface so you can lead grass down so you can make an animal farm. Also be careful of old mines, they have cave spiders in them and they poison you.
