  • AMERICA IS A KILLING NAME !

  • The United States must return the Indian land.

  • Chink asshole!

he's trying to teach japanese people about american culture

and you do know that Chink is an insult to all asian people right?

    so you're insulting yourself 馬鹿

  • lol it took me a sec to understand why u said that, but you cracked me up with the yakuza joke. XD

  • I like your videos and it's a good thing that you're also showing to Japanese people the culture of America.

it's funny how you always say "You can't learn Japanese by watching anime" (as I did) But you DO have a bit accent even though you learnt it in a proper way ;) though the sad truth is that your grammar is a way better than mine.

  • ima save Koichi the trouble and just facepalm for him

    *facepalm*

  • so you watched anime and poof all of a sudden you speak japanese? you had to of studied japanese more than from just watching japanese

otherwise you wouldn't know anything learning japanese from anime is like learning english from looneytoons

Thanks for reminding me again why I'm studying this language.

  • Nice videos. I found these through some link for the (terrible) Dragon Ball Z trailer.

I have studied Japanese and lived there for school and work.

I don't get a chance to listen to or speak Japanese much anymore, but I still understood pretty much everything you said and enjoyed the humour! Keep it up!

  • wish i could speak japanese like this guy T_T

  • *sigh* i wish i better understood japanese... i'm working on it tho...

  • haha i always find you talk like a man from a tv show

  • UR EYES ARE SO PRETTY!!!

u have eyes just like my bff shingoo aww :)

  • wow your japanese is so good! and you make it easier to understand here.

  • how did bend your little finger like that?...

  • damn yui ben!!! you're so funny when i can understand you!

  • Why, oh why, are you so awesome, Koichi?

  • Is there any difference between fireworks and bonfire? Because I was misunderstanding to use a word ''sympathy''. Someone in lang-8 corrected me using it to ''empathy''.

  • I personally like bonfire than hanabi because there's something redneck about it. Shooting mr.potato head is even better. Y'nowwaImean?

  • What does ''Shooting mr.potato head'' mean?

  • Mr. Potato Head is a classic toy has been around for more than 50 years. Place a mr. potatohead on one end of a 5-6 foot long steel pipe with a disposable lighter in it. Then you put the pipe in bonfire upright. When the lighter blows up and mr. potatohead launches into the sky like a rocket. You can't go any redneck than that.

  • :)

    I love your videos!

  • lol the irony of those fireworks, i bet most of those are made abroad

  • There were a lot of weird jokes in this one, haha. Btw, what happened to your hair?

  • Wtf, wait until November. Seriously. Patience.

  • More Godzilla please!

  • lmao 5/5

  • Happy 4th of July, bro. Be careful!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    funny vid!

  • And independence day! Congratulations.

    OMEDETOU

  • lol There was a message for me.... but.. I don't know enought Japanese to understand exactly what you were trying to tell us. lol XD

... give me a break.. I'm just on my 1st lesson book on lesson 18. lol

  • What about the Canadians! Our day is three days before the Americans. We like making things go boom to. Ah well...

  • barbeque and princess leia

Funny you should mention the English. Reminds me of Tony Blair in front of the US Congress on July 17, 2003:

Actually, you know, my middle son was studying 18th century history and the American War of Independence, and he said to me the other day, "You know, Lord North, Dad, he was the British prime minister who lost us America. So just think, however many mistakes you'll make, you'll never make one that bad."

  • Happy Fourth of July!

As I studied Japanese, I was taught as a "monotonic language" As I am studying Chinese, a "crazy-tonic" language, I've realized that there are many words in Japanese that can change the meaning by saying it a different tone.

蜂 vs 八 -The first one sound more monotonic, while HA is emphasized when saying the number eight.

Utteiru- being sold - sounds more monotonic

Utteiru- to shoot - sounds just like you said!

  • Hahahahaha.. Buttobash!

  • It's interesting to see that, it brings back memories from when I was a kid and fireworks weren't outlawed. Almost everywhere I've lived in the past 20 years fireworks were illegal and tents like that don't exist anymore.

  • I liked the bit about the English :)

"ahhh...Igirisu-jin kirai..." i loved that face you pulled there

Happy Independence Day from an Englishman. :)

xD Happy Independance day, from the weak English.

  • lol, that was only a ruse to get you to come back and replace bush's rule!

  • Don't worry, it shalln't be long. *scheme fingers*

  • The yakuza joke took me a second. :P Woo! Alcohol and fireworks!
