  • 20 bucks says shes a virgin.

  • yeah my teacher makes me watch this...

  • Initially, I felt sorry for Sister Wendy - Thinking that she had blindly absorbed herself in a life of solitude without due thought.

Having learned that she has a First Class degree with Distinction, from Oxford University, I've re-evaluated my tenderness!

...I was wrong in those early estimations!

Nobody, whomsoever can sequester themselves repleat with such intellectual breadth, is ever worthy of pity.

She has the whole World in her Mind - And that's more than most could ever hope for...

  • She's so passionate about art ... she makes it interesting for everyone

  • I adore her.

  • Sister Wendy is Great, I love her

  • @mrattaintruefreedom how silly indeed. btw. your spelling isn't perfect either, yet you're the native English speaker here. do we need to continue talking about this, or are we done now?

  • Fascinating...I am glad she said God is a metaphor...makes God more palatable. The spoken word is different to the written word...is right.

  • I hate her teeth and the way she speaks but she's reasonable.

  • She seems pleasant.

  • lol Existantia. I know she'll find that funny if she reads it. These are 2 of my favorite people. :) It's so nice to see them talking together.

  • LOL i was laughing my a%% offf while watching one of her episodes in art class. AND I WAS DRINKING WATER and i almost spit it out! Totally hilarioouss! I was literally crying!

  • Why?

  • Sister Wendy is such a wonderful speaker and a born lecturer. If she hadn't become a nun, you can easily imagine her having a brilliant career as a professor of art at a leading university. She is charming and enthusiastic and she imparts that enthusiasm to her listener(s). Moyers asks her about how she could "do her thing" so easily and she replies "it was perfectly simple! I was just talking and explaining things to the camera!"

    Just a natural talent.

  • How refreshing that she does NOT need a teleprompter to speak intelligently - unlike some people we know.

  • yes, she is very intelligent

  • @abdul7591 Fuck you asswipe.

  • @abdul7591 Why would a piece of shit like yourself even be here?

  • @malkooth Are you reading that from your teleprompter?

  • @abdul7591 I'd love to see a sculpture of Sister Wendy shitting in your mouth.

  • @malkooth The correct expression would be: "Why would a piece of shit like YOU even be here?" Your grammar is off and your sense of writing style is crude, to say nothing of your vocabulary. You haven't been out of high school very long, have you?

  • @abdul7591 My vocabulary is bigger than the vile shit that passes your lips on a constant basis you fucking used kotex. English in the service of dick holed disease like yourself can fuck itself.

  • I remember the exact moment when Sister Wendy taught me that it's possible for something to be extremely well executed technically, and yet you still might not like it. Very wise.

  • Yes. Skill is a necessary but insufficient criterion of art. Thus, for example, the tattooist can never be an artist. I know it's heresy to say such a thing in today's demotic age, but so be it.

  • I want to go shopping with sister wendy.

  • Haahahaha "Try this black habit on. And if you don't like it, what about this VERY black habit???" lol j/k

  • I love Sister Wendy!

  • Me too. I think she is amazing in her analysis of paintings. Just amazing!

  • Sister Wendy has one of the most perceptive and amazing interpretation of masterpieces that I have ever heard. I enjoyed her insights on European Art more than the American. I wish she would do more.

  • Yes me too. I watch some of the older episodes from time to time. She has so much soul and compassion. Sister

  • Wendy is a real inspiration for artists and art lovers everywhere.

  • Well, it appears you are psychotic and paranoid now. I don't know if you were or weren't molested - I hope not. But if you were, does that mean the whole of the Catholic church is awful? All the work that Catholic Charities - that is bad too? Or, are you a rabid atheist, lashing out?

  • Also, I think the amount of love and truth makes her such an amazing woman, she defies our notion of what we think nuns are like. I consider her a spiritual person rather than religious. Highly spiritual. I simply love her to bits.

  • It's wonderful how she has the admiration of so many types of people. On this wall, we have Atheists, Catholics, etc etc and all agree that she is wonderful because her soul shines through her habit. She seems to speak to a deeper part in all of us. I remember the first time I saw her...I stopped for just 1 min, and thenI couldnt pull away.

  • I watched her for the last few years. I love her. Yes, I am an atheist, but I can see her beauty and soul shine through. She rocks!!

  • Oh, totally. I want to get the DVD collection. I rented it last year and was glued to the tv.

  • There is no need to re-post your comments. They have been heard and acknowledged. Re-posting might tend to be counter productive in getting your message across, particularly as the message seems to be identical to those previously posted.

    Take care MC.

  • Moi aussi!

  • I'm left-handed too. At the age of 16 I was molested by a man in a movie theater on 8th Avenue in New York City. I was shocked at his action, and too frightened to get up and walk out. But that was many years ago, and in my heart I've forgiven the man. There's no doubt that your experience was worse than mine, because those nuns you're referring to were probably authority figures who abused their authority. For your own sake, and for those women, I ask you to find forgiveness in your heart.

  • When we talk of our abuse experiences, they are all awful. I never say one person's experience is 'worse' than another, as the effect of them on our lives is painful and lifelong.

  • I respectfully disagree, inasmuch as there are degrees of abuse, and differing capacities of individuals to overcome them.

  • I am very sorry for your horrendous experiences, particularly because it happened when you were a child.

I attended two Catholic orphanages in Western Australia, and your experience in NY, was replicated here.

Our challenge is to not let the people who stole our childhoods, also destroy our adult lives.

There are some church people who do good. Our ability to trust in that is minimal, I know. Other people here will never understand.

I do believe Sister Wendy is good and sincere.

  • I was flipping through the channels one day and came across this nun who was discussing the painting American Gothic. In just a minute I was hooked on this wonderfuly erudite nun and her fascination with art, that she manages to share and spread to the listener.

A most unlikely celebrity, but the very best! And I'm a protestant.

  • Heh, I'm a total atheist and I absolutely love Sister Wendy. She transcends all that stuff.

  • I don't see how Sister Wendy is to blame for what happened to molestedcatholic. She is obviously a very caring person with a quiet courage, a wry sense of humor, and a great love of art.

  • The traditional Catholic Habit would symbolise the appalling and shocking experience that MC has endured.

Her reaction to genteel Sister Wendy might seem unreasonable, but a Catholic institution encompasses secrecy, deceit and denial of its abuses.

I find Sister Wendy's contribution to Art and cultural thinking very un-Catholic, and refreshing.

  • @ParArdua obviously you've never seen the art in Vatican, visited Catholic schools, or heard that Catholic universities were first on the planet, and that the Church was first to invite foreign speakers/teachers - such as Arabs (yes, muslims) to educate in areas of their expertize. And lest we forget, the teachings on nature at the time were based on Aristotle's works (a Greek and a pagan) until Galilleo came along.

  • @someman7

The world's first universities were Islamic. Islamic medicine led the world early and long until the evil of the crusades. The Hijab is Christian, it is pre-Islamic. I was born Catholic, and had a Cathoilc education until the age of 12. Read a book.

  • @ParArdua Oh, really? What university is older than Bologna's (est 1088)? Thanks in advance. I don't argue about the superiority of the eastern education at points in time in some areas though. That is exactly why muslim scholars were brought to teach in Catholic schools in medieval times. What hijabs have to do with this - I have no idea. Love you who went to Catholic schools and think that's why you know all things better than me who had secular education - just because I'm Catholic (too?).

  • @someman7 sorry for intruding on a conversation, but what do you mean by university exactly? Because the first university, in terms of our modern university was created by Plato when he became disillusioned with Athens. That was far earlier than Bologna and as much as some catholic texts like to believe Plato was not catholic :/

  • @Purality By university I do not mean school, that's for sure.

Perhaps Plato was not a Catholic because he lived some 4,5 centuries before Christ established the Church. ":/"

It's been a choir talking to you.

  • @someman7 Yes because a school and an university are polar opposites. I guess if you consider the handing out of pieces of paper the mile stone that seperates an academy from a university then sure, whoever makes up the word university is obviously going to have the first university. What's the point of pointing out that Plato existed 4 centuries before Christianity was ever thought up may I ask? Also why were you arguing about the earliest university?

  • @Purality It's still a choir to talk to you. Had you read previous comments you'd know why I'm talking about universities (and, once again, they aren't simply schools, and Plato certainly didn't make one). I don't know why *you* are talking about them though.

It is evident the Church plays an immenesely important role in educating the humanity. So no Catholic would be confused about Plato's faith 4ct. before Christ. It's a petty insult with no basis in reality. Try to hate less.

  • She is just all kinds of sweet to watch!

  • My world history teacher lives for Sister Wendy; there isn't a day where he doesn't quote her. Sister Wendy, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have passed my renaissance arts test.

    Most legendary nun EVER

  • WE LOVEEE SISTA¡ WENDY SISIS

  • She rocks!!!

  • I love this woman!!!!!!

  • typical Euro-trash to leave such a comment.

  • Hey... hey! I didn't like the comment either, but what's with the Eurotrash? I'm a proud European!

  • Where did I write that you are Euro-Trash? That comment was left for "phlarrdboi." Are you that person also?

  • LMAO! dude thats mean

  • Religion and art do not mix. Jesus did not bare the sin of the artist or the scientist. If you can explain how Jesus did this or does this, I'd love to hear it. The genius of the philosophy of aesthetics is the one who atones for their sin, and brings the arts and sciences out of this dark age, so humanity can begin to serve the God of the eternal and integrated good.

  • you sound like a very clever person. people will be very sad when yuo die, i think

  • I just did a video on Mind / Body Medicine, which goes over sin and the artist / scientist integration. Thinking is good, and I have to give you credit on your ability to recognize who I might be and why I might be here. I might be the second coming of Noah. I hope everyone gets on board, while they might have the chance.

  • you are a delight

  • I like this geniusloch - you sound mad but interesting!

  • I d like to see her do a commentary on "Piss Christ"

  • she does in this video series! -- you know that, right? - watch them all.

  • So sad.....
