Anyway, the croc will run as long you give the reverse comando, due to the lack of breaker switch. So, you have to make it as short as possible. If adjustment of the drum wont help, it will better to get a Old Marklin Super transformer (if you only got one small from a starter set). This make the reverse peake by pressing the knob down, making it easyer to give just a short peak. Very nice Croc ! I got one SK 800 with the same Goat jump problem. It has the same drum reverse unit as your CCS. One of the problem is that this older type dont have a breaker swich some of the drum reverse units have. The breaker switch cuts off the voltage simultaniusly when you are giving the reverse comando with the knob. if you got a veak transformer your Croc will even drain the power due to the BIG motor . You can adjust the drum to make the longest possible travel before contact.
@Matthyen How do I got about fixing the Goat Jump? I've tried lubricating the reverse mechaisms, the springs and sliding portions and such. The reverser of the CCS 800 is a copper drum. Do I take it out and clean off the oxidation?

@Humungus16000 Grüße, Ich beabsichtige, das Krokodil in seinem ursprünglichen Zustand zu halten. Das konnte den Kollektorwert aufrechterhalten.

I will try to find a how-to-manual for this that I have somewhere.. Very selfexplanatory. (cartoon style drawn and not published by Märklin)...
Wonderful CCS800 you have there :)

How do I fix the 'Goat Jump'?? On the CCS 800 the reversing gear seems to be a circular drum.

When reversing , you should really take care of the so called "goat-jump"..
It´s an easy fix.
