(Part four) Or a CONE shape - the smallest part will be at the mirror, the largest part will be wherever the circle is being displayed.
Now - if this description did nothing but confuse you, let me know - I will actually make a video of me MAKING one, to show you all how to do this - because the end result is REALLY cool !
It really is a lot simpler than I described, my apologies for not being able to describe it better !
(Part three) board at a 45 degree angle, or close to it - your angle for your mirror does not need to be THAT perfect, but just something other than FLAT !!!
Once the mirror is glued onto the rotating center part of the fan, and the mirror is angled slightly - you turn on the fan, and aim the laserbeam at the mirror - - when it reflects off - it will make a circle on the wall, ceiling, or wherever. NOW - if you picture the mirror at the bottom of the letter V. the beam makes the V ! (more)
(Part two) Now, take your SMALL mirror, and glue it onto the center of the fan -BUT, you MUST have it at an angle - so, take a staple, or a piece of a paper clip - something to go under the mirror, so when you glue it onto the center of the fan (the part that rotates is the center, hopefully !) it will be crooked, angled, etc - to over explain it, make it look - on a much smaller scale - like you are putting a basketball under a board - when you do that, it makes the (more in next post !)
(Part one) To make a decent, but basic time-tunnel - get a mirror....preferrably a front surface mirror if possible. If not, no biggie, this IS a basic tunnel after all ! Okay - materials needed :
a PC Case fan, or small DC powered fan - one that you can turn on and off would be good. Even one of those small "kiddie" fans - the kind found at drug stores, and have cartoon characters on them, etc - one of those will work. (part two, next post !)
Shining the laser at a mirror, mounted on a PC case fan ! When you mount the mirror on crooked, it makes a "timetunnel" effect - like the wormhole on Stargate, etc.
@studistudi Sorry for the time delay ! All I know is a friend gave it to me calling it a Star Trek TNG remix - send me a private message, I'll try to email you the song, or make it downloadable for you :-)
It's actually pretty easy :-) The best way to do it is get a PC case fan - you can either cut off the blades, or leave them on the fan - you take a small (preferably front surface type) mirror, and glue it in the center of the fan - BUT ! You have to have it slightly off center - you can do this by taking a small piece of wire, or even a small washer, and place that UNDER the mirror when you glue it down to the fan. Then you add a fog machine (or incense) and you are done !
@gregstoner1369 Actually it's me, Silvershot from lpf :) I did make one but was cheapy and didn't work well. I am trying to finish my spirograph now. The only problem is the alignment of the motors and the correct electronic stuff to adjust the speed of motors. I need help on this but am afraid to post on the forum, they will tell me to search on previous threads :(
Never Fear ! I can send you the ULTIMATE hook-up ! :-) LEt me get together a little StoneTek gift box to send out your way - drop me an email with a reminder (include your address again, please :) ) and you will be good to go ! Screw those uptight Jerks on LPF. I think a new forum needs to be started with actual INFORMATION on there, orther than the usual posts of, " OMI GAWD ! I CAN HAZ LAZORZ !"
It is tough to get the right combination of smoke and clear air... I've quite the cigar habit now and it all started with my laser experiments... Nice song too.
You can produce really cheap smoke from burning Glycerine (I beleive thats the product they use on smoke machines) I used to put a little on a small can and burn it (stove top) and add some colone, perfume(some drops) or anything that smells good.

what where u shinging the laser at
Mr420tripmofo 11 months ago
@Mr420tripmofo
GOOD question ! :-) It was a basic "Time-Tunnel" device - a time tunnel device uses mirrors to distort the laser beam into an expanding cone shape -

Yea, cigars probably are not the best thing to use as they smell bad - fog machines however can be purchased for less than $30.00 at a party store.
pmgodfrey 4 years ago
Agreed. However a room full of 'fog' does not produce the best effect.
