  • im only 14 and i have a 55 gallon and a 125 gallon ... so it doesn't matter when you start as long as you know what your doing and have a good dealer that will give you the right information. but if you have no experience i wouldn't go any bigger then a 75 gallon because once you go bigger its a lot different . Good Luck!

  • Can i buy a coral reef at petco. And how do you make the water have a current. What do i have to buy for that?

  • no way NEVER go to petco. never even think about it.

and i also think u shold not be setting up a reef yet. it sounds likie u have do expeince even with fresh water. mabay set a a small 30 gallon fresh water tank for about 3-5 years then start a fresh water im 13 and iv lived with fish ALL my life and i just set up my first saltwater tank ( i wish i dident, i wish i had waited a few more years) but once you get in to one its a great but pricey hobby.

  • Never ever go to petco friend. I stood at petco one day and i counted 6 diffent types diseases. You first need to study alittle about keeping a reef tank and how careful you must be not to introduce any diseases in your tank for they are hard to get read off. There is a good video that shows the basic of how to set up and maintain a reef tank . Its name its the reef aquarium dvd cost about 60 bucks in their website. Expensive huh? Well welcome to the world of reef keeping and money blowing.

  • question...Any issues with the powder blue and the naso?

  • Nope they all go fine together. Make sure you have enough rockwork for them to hide.

  • How bis is your sump?

  • Your tank is awesome!!!! I got a question , I left my t-5 light on for 24 straight hours and my live rock grew like crazy, got brown stuff over them, and my water got cloudy. Should I worry about anything or is that normal. If you get a chance check my tank out. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If have high nutrient level i.e. high nitrate and high phosphate. Then the light will help the algae grow like weed (the brown stuff). The cloudy is probably bacteria boom.

These are usually signs of a young tank.

  • Oh...also, I like the seafan on the right...What species is that?

  • um.... not sure on the correct name but its the non-photosynthetic type.

  • Vey nice tank...Question...Do you have a refugium?

  • yes i have a big sump under the tank

  • The clarity is spectacular, do you have Starphire (low-iron) glass?

  • Thanks. Yes the front piece is ultra clear glass.

  • how could u keep all the glass of da tank clear like dat? mine got hella algea growin on da right nd left side i want to keep themm clear nd clean lik urs

  • the best way to keep glass clean to, is to keep nutrients down. Also don't use unfiltered tap water it causes alot of trouble.

  • ohh shoot i always use tap water for my tank..buh i always keep da tap water outside so all the stuff in water will evaporate so u think dat will work? or i have to use RODI water?

i think because i use tap water that cause my fishes breath really bad is that true? im so worried nd dont know wat to do

  • nd 1 more question :) how could i keep da nutrients down?

  • Best place to start is to use RO/DI water. Next is weekly water change.

Then you are basically set to have a beautiful tank. Good luck.

  • very nice tank. iv just started a 70 gal tank still in very first stage but i hope it turns out like yours. pleaser to watch your vid.

  • Realy nice,i started a 54 gallon saltwater tank about a year ago and now im always broke every dime i get i spend it at my local fish store its addicting.how big is your tank, how much would you say youve spent on it.

  • Thanks. My tanks is 6x2x2 with a 4x2x1 sump. How much did I spent...... I gave up counting a long time ago.......

  • very nice, how old is the tank? it looks new.

    very will done.
