  • You have correctly highlighted that laws apply to all warranty dispositions. Along with that fact, we know engine manufacturers ask about oil and filter used in application as a part of their investigation. While that information may not have bearing on a determination of warranty, they do need to ensure that all critical service parts used comply with OEM specifications. In many cases, non-OEM parts prompt further investigation to ensure compliance with the OE specs.

  • Ever heard of the magnuson moss warranty act? Apparently not because they can NOT deny warranty due to using a different brand of oil or filter as long as the substitute meets the oem specs.
