The more I hear this song, the more I love it. It really resonates with me.
And Dave Cousins' emotional singing gives the song even more power. I find myself crying as I listen to it.
I miss Sandy, too. She took alot of talent and wonderful music yet to be created with her when she left us way too soon. I wish I could trade places with her and be the one to die at 31 so she could have all the years I've lived beyond 31. The world really needs her and her music.
This is a very sad story, but I'm happy you found it again since I lost the original you'd sent.Thank you so much, and yes he is still very emotional for it to have been 30 past, but she was speacial.thank you, rocker53zero,msstevie xx
This is a beautiful song, I still have the 7" around somewhere. I saw Dave Cousins play it live to about 20 people in a little studio in Coventry UK. To my eternal horror the alarm on my digital watch started beeping about half way through & took me a long 10 seconds to realise. Fortunately he forgave me, until he saw the Genesis painting on the back of my jacket as we were leaving the show!
Interesting that he is wearing a shirt with patterns much like Sandy's dress on the Sandy and Strawbs LP cover. She also wears it on the BBC film of "Crazy Lady" and "Late November".
Nigihayahi-- you said "Please inform me that Dave Cousins of Strawbs talks what about Sandy Denny of Fairprt Convention." If you wanted to know WHETHER he is speaking of Sandy Denny from Fairport Convention, the answer is yes. If you wonder what it is that he says in the introduction, he is telling the audience that Sandy died from injury sustained in a fall down the stairs, while her husband and child were on an airplane, on their way to Australia.

@peter, excellent indeed! I'm pretty sure, this is Brian Willoughby, making music with Cathryn Craig for some years now.

Beautifull and moving. Cousins voice was still in fine form here. Sad to say that it no longer is

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful person... the emotion in Dave's voice adds to the wonder of this melody to Sandy's memory

This is a very touching tribute to Sandy.
Has anyone got a good vinyl copy of the Dragonfly album for sale. Mine was stolen and it's the only Strawbs album which I don/t have.
