Does anyone else feel that deftones, especially Chino, sound a lot better live now. I'm not sure why. He lost of lot weight, apparently kicked the drugs etc. Maybe they've been practicing more, maybe Chi's coma was an eye opener for the band...a chance to realize what's really important. I don't know. Anyway I hope Chi gets better. This band make beautiful music, most people don't get my obsession with them

Yeah I feel that way too. Admittedly I've been listening to Deftones only less than a year, but I've seen a lotta videos of them live, both old and new, and I think they do sound a lot better now. Maybe it's a combination of everything, I mean Chino does look healthier, and I'm sure that has an effect on how he sounds.

i agree. i definitely feel it. there is more of a focus like this isn't going to last forever and i think chi has something to do with it. it's a little trippy looking at the audience and realizing most of these kids probably were barely even in preschool when the deftones first record came out. and yea man i've been a fan since before atf and i am still full into this band. one of the only bands i will just sit and watch live video after live video of on youtube... all these years later.

@craigrawks Yea, ppl who are obsessed with KISS don't understand my affinity toward this band. The subject of being better is purely a topic of opinion. I was 17 when they opened for Monster Magnet and they handed out cassette tapes, @ 18 they toured and had a 12 dollar cover. I can think of my life 15 years ago and Deftones was my favorite band then. The songs change in style, if one compared the first to the latest, but the underlying tone/lyrics become more mature, as I have.
