Thank you! I've learned many things from many different teachers, as well as studying videos and performances of Egyptian dancers. However, my main inspiration and most influential teacher has been Hadia.
I agree. Music interpretation is very important in dance and in bellydance as wel. Ana Fi Intizarak is a very dramatic piece and a big smile along the whole performance would be out of place. Very wel done Adishakti! You know i love to see you dance. I hope i can some day be as good as you :-)
@Adishakti Maybe instead of just not smiling you you could have softened your face so that it looked like you were dancing with passion rather than looking like you were in pain? I understand what you said about it being about heartache, but you can still portray that feeling with a passionate looking face that lets us know you're still loving dancing but aren't you know.. looking like you're in pain. It's a little concerning to watch when you look like that :S
@glamournurse Well, I thank you for taking the time to offer advice and I'm sorry to hear you disapprove. When feeling emotion in Egyptian Dance, I allow my eyebrows to do as they will and keep the rest of my face soft. There are many things I would do to improve my dance in almost any circumstance, but I am quite pleased with how my emotions are portrayed in this performance. Alas, not everyone is going to enjoy every aspect of my dancing. I'm okay with that.

Thank you. The song is about heartache, which is why I chose not to smile for this specific piece.
