Today I have a new channel, considering a 3rd shot attempt to be a steady gaming channel on you tube now, and filtering out my networks now and stuff. As well as trying a better approach on posting videos and posting whenever I damn well please to. And honestly do not take care in how many connections I get, because its not important. Actually the smaller network I have, gives me the opportunity to check out the connections I made so its great! Loving my channel now, and hopefully will remain.
I mean I had some valuable videos that I posted that I could have kept, but I figured I could redo them, which I felt wasn't a big deal since I didn't like my past vids to start with. But like you mentioned, I gave everyone that BS line about not having time on you tube and family is getting in the way of my interests and hobbies so I can't be on you tube anymore so I am shutting it down, yeah right. Turned out within a week, I missed You Tube. lol

Honestly your right. There really is no true valid reasons to shut down ones channel and start a new one, because like you said, its free and its not going anywhere. Not too long ago I had two gaming channels and they were doing pretty good as far as viewers are concerned and had them for about 2 years, but I honestly did not like the way my channel was going and my videos sucked in my opinion and couldn't get out of that, so I deleted them and restarted...

Fair points. I've shut down channels before because I wanted a name change so I could refocus myself, but it's not like anyone would watch my shit anyway.
Really don't see a point to this video. Not a big fan of whining and bitching and at the end of the day, it doesn't matter one bit why people on youtube do what they do. There are some who leave whom I miss and I wonder why but beyond that, I don't give it much thought and certainly not enough thought to make a video complaining about it.

I used to know this guy who was on YouTube that went by the name, PyramidHead87 and then went by PyramidFace87. He shut his channel down for idk what reason it was. All of his videos were great though.
I wanted to ad my new opinion that changed as soon as i made my last comment that probably got buried and never got saw. Personally i don't give a shit if a partner says he shut his channel because he has explosive diarrhea! However the only thing that bugs me is when they make it sound like all there subbers are losers by saying"I have a life and i have no time for video games!". People have every right to shut down there channel if they want.

Same as when I deleted my Facebook as a teenager, only to make a new one later. Maybe some of these people watch their own videos, decide they don't like what they see, and make up an excuse for why they're leaving when the real reason is simply insecurity or self-loathing. I'm sure that doesn't account for all channel closings, but a few perhaps.
I agree with the reason T2Darlantan left youtube (didn't shut down his account), when some of his videos were getting taken down for next to no reason. Then people somehow have such a hard time watching his videos on Blip.

The only reason I could ever see in shutting down a channel is to change your username or something like that. I'm not sure if you are allowed to do that now but a while back when I tried to, I couldn't. So I just made a new channel. The videos I had posted were just put back up on that channel...I agree though

i've left about 3 channels but i think they had solid reasons...one channel was from a LONG time ago where i just used it for personal liking and favoriting and i never uploaded.....had one channel that youtube actually shut down :( had 400 subs, then my next channel i closed because i made it with false information for my youtube account and i thought to myself i want to make some money off youtube eventually i think its best to have accurate information and so here i am on my latest channel :D
I may be being a little melodramatic here myself but I suppose YouTube videos are in the same way like art and literature, once they are uploaded they become public property or part of the cultural conscience. To change or delete them when so many people have liked, favourited and subscribed to them is like a big fuck you.

I remember a person that I subscribed to, a long long time ago, that used to do game reviews constantly, but then he suddenly stop posting vids, I don't know if he specified the reason why (at that time) was he leaving (sort of) youtube, maybe he did and I just didn't notice, matter of fact is that he is in the war right now (Afghanistan that sort of thing) so the quality of his vids couldn't be the same do to his work and the installation he is in right now, which makes sense to me though.

Shutting down your partnered channel because of a newly formed relationship is just plain stupid. Last time I gave into the whole sympathy party for somebody wanting to leave Youtube, they ended up making a video hours later saying *Uses Rich's fanboy voice* "Well, due to the overwhelming positive responses I have gotten I've decided not to shut it down." I searched their catalog of videos and they did that twice before. Immature people. Great video, good sir! Liked and favored!
I was gone for 3 months so I could move, and then later in the summer I got very depressed for personal reasons so I didn't make any videos. And I still didn't leave.

yeah I know a little about this. I know one guy who is on is his 3rd or 4th channel. his reason is usually the trolls and stupid people on his channel. I say if you can't deal with it why do you make videos?

I think I found my way and the right balance and I have again fun with what I do - if somebody want to share this fun with me he is very welcome, if not then he can simply click away or be "clicked away" without any discussion.

Because of all this personal stress I became my self very sensible during these hard months and just overreacted on a normal afternoon, while I just had read again some stupid hater comments.

The reasons differ, but one main reason was that I got trolled by some peoples because of my bad enlish, and because I had to block every day a lot of idiots that left racist comments on my videos - that was something that made me really very sad and ruined the fun on what I actually created the channel for. I agree, you may change your opinion, so some vids may not be relevant, and be made private, but closing down a channel is usually indicative of something else.
lol i just shut down my youtube channel today! BUT it was an extra channel with no videos no video views very VERY few channel views (like 10 or so) and i havent used it in like 2 years. other then that i see no reason to shut down a channel! especially if you are partner cuz thats free money until utube revokes partnership which if u quit making videos may happen (eventually) and if by any chance u want to start making videos again then boom back into making money!
I had a channel with about 200 subs and I was making youtube videos. Eventually I stoped making them, but I still used my channel to favorite,comment,etc.
However, a few weeks ago I decided to turn my life around. I was in a slump for years, and when I decided to have a new begining.

Anyways, about the video one thing I never understood was why people close their channel completely. It doesn't cost money to keep your channel and you can still use it to comment on other peoples videos such as I do with my channel.
One reason to shut down your channel could be because of you searching for a job. I've seen a few cases where (among other reasons) an employer will deny someone employment because they make videos here on youtube.

The only reason I could ever see in shutting down a channel is to change your username or something like that. I'm not sure if you are allowed to do that now but a while back when I tried to, I couldn't. So I just made a new channel. The videos I had posted were just put back up on that channel...I agree though

i've left about 3 channels but i think they had solid reasons...one channel was from a LONG time ago where i just used it for personal liking and favoriting and i never uploaded.....had one channel that youtube actually shut down :( had 400 subs, then my next channel i closed because i made it with false information for my youtube account and i thought to myself i want to make some money off youtube eventually i think its best to have accurate information and so here i am on my latest channel :D

I remember a person that I subscribed to, a long long time ago, that used to do game reviews constantly, but then he suddenly stop posting vids, I don't know if he specified the reason why (at that time) was he leaving (sort of) youtube, maybe he did and I just didn't notice, matter of fact is that he is in the war right now (Afghanistan that sort of thing) so the quality of his vids couldn't be the same do to his work and the installation he is in right now, which makes sense to me though.

Last time I gave into the whole sympathy party for somebody wanting to leave Youtube, they ended up making a video hours later saying *Uses Rich's fanboy voice* "Well, due to the overwhelming positive responses I have gotten I've decided not to shut it down." lol i just shut down my youtube channel today! BUT it was an extra channel with no videos no video views very VERY few channel views (like 10 or so) and i havent used it in like 2 years. other then that i see no reason to shut down a channel! especially if you are partner cuz thats free money until utube revokes partnership which if u quit making videos may happen (eventually) and if by any chance u want to start making videos again then boom back into making money!

However, a few weeks ago I decided to turn my life around. I was in a slump for years, and when I decided to have a new begining.

One reason to shut down your channel could be because of you searching for a job. I've seen a few cases where (among other reasons) an employer will deny someone employment because they make videos here on youtube.
