Just a question, Maangchi, when you have examples of things you've made a week prior to the recording, do you give the extra as gifts, or do you throw it out? Just curious! I always wonder what chefs do when they have so much! :-)
Hi, Maangchi, I love your recipes always. Would you please tell me what is the purpose of using the apple in it. And if I just eat it after soap it one week, as I not eat spicy, so will it be too salty. Do I need to add sugar? Please teach me if you have time to read this message. Thanks for your recipes before and after and future.
Hi maangchi! when i go to the korean restaurant near my neighborhood usually with the kimchi they bring us side dishes..in one of them there is this pickled i guess onion! it's sooooooooo tasty that i want to eat only this haha!
@Maangchi I went to a Kbbq place today and I ate what I thought was cucumber Kimchi but there was nothing stuffed so i came here and I think it is the
Oijangajji muchim it was sweet slightly salty and not tart at all i loved it i was wondering if it was the same because theirs really looks more like kimchi. Thank you!
@boralady until it runs out. You can enjoy your oijangahjji until it's gone. But if you make a lot, I recommend taking care of the salty juice from the jar a couple of times. Take only salty water by using a strainer, and boil and cool it down. Add the salty water to the jar again with the salty cucumbers. Good luck! : )
Ahn-young Maangchi!!!! you are adorable & so wonderful with all of your cooking tips........ I'm a miguk & my hanguk uma-in-law will be so impressed!!!!
@TaTaTew09 thank you, yes, many people have sent me photos of their cucumber pickles. Check the recipe on my website, then you will see the photos there.
Thank you....I was referring to a dish that is made with korean black beans.....
Is it not the same, I think its made with black beans, sugar, soy, garlic, green onions, seasame oil, and seasame seeds.....I just dont know how to make it :( My best friend is Korean, and his mother makes it some times, but she is getting older, and my best friend has asked me to learn how to make it! :)
interesting! I have never heard about cold black noodles. If you want to discuss more about the noodles, please leave your message on the forum on my website. Someone else may give you a good answer.
Hi Maangchi thx for recipes! can u please also teach how to make cold noodle too? I had the "super elastic-chewy" col noodle at korean town and the soup and noodles are just wonderful. Dying to know how to ake it. heehee. THX!~!
I am a vivid watcher of korean drama who's living far away from Asia. The food the people ate in the drama seem to be very exotic and looks veeeerrrry tasty. I always wondered what the dishes are and with your channel I not only know what the dishes are called but ALSO how to make them! Thank you very much!
yes, real authentic Korean style salty pickles are made with no vinegar and much more salt. I just modified the recipe a little this way. My answer is that you can use less vinegar in the recipe.
when my mom made similar styled pickles, it lasted at maximum 3 weeks. its good to eat them quickly because cucumbers dont seem to last long - they become mushy and the crunchyness disappears after 2 weeks or so...
Do you have a son I could marry so I can be apart of your family?? - lol - I have to go find a jar big enough to do this! Thanks so much for sharing with us, Unni!!
Haven't been able to make much oi kimchi ,or anything else, since the cucumbers aren't that great here this year. And the cucumber plants in our garden drowned in the rain.
I love your charisma! Great tasty and easy food. I would have left out that extra tsp salt in the soup--it's just my personal suggestion. Thanks for sharing your wonderful Korean Food!
