Wow... since there is an AWD version of the Kluger / Highlander available for a little extra would that make any difference? I feel the Kluger/Highlander is a soft roader, with 200kw Power and 333Nm Tourque with most of it coming on tap from idle it can do 0-100km in 8 seconds flat, but with the wrong driver it cant go up a slippery hill... *LOL* OK

@tandysony The only reason i could think of is that the Highlander is way heavier than the other 2WD family cars, and this is why a 2WD highlander is not made for hill climbing.

NOT RIGHT!!! Tell you what, the center of gravity for Highlander is not the physical certer, even closer to the rear wheels, Which gives Highlander less capability for uphills. So, it's either TOYOTA's design defect, or strategic mistakes to release a 2DW version. BTW, Highland is not the heaviest car.
The Highlander isn't a proper off-road vehicle. It is a car-based crossover built on the camry platform. It also does not have any off-road stability systems, underbody skid pads or a lockable differential. Buy a 4Runner...

1. 轿车式底盘,重心变高,车重近1.8吨,加上前轮传动,其越野性能甚至比不上轿车.
2. 只要是前轮传动的SUV爬不上湿滑陡坡的机率较高.
3. 广汽丰田贩卖前应让消费者知道汉兰达只是披着狼皮的羊.
4. 丰田如果引进生产名实相符的车种,如4RUNNER或是皮卡之王海拉克斯(hilux)就不会有这些争议,
