This car is an instant classic. I'd just love to have one if it wasn't for the taxes imposed on it... I 've owned in the past a citroen GSA, a BX, a BX millésime and now a 2009 C5 model, all with the hydropneumatic suspension. The comfort of the ride is astonishing! Recently I took for a ride a friend's Merc. C200 kompressor, also 2009 model. After I got out I felt even better for my C5 :-). It's better looking, more comfortable & the interior is more luxurious. The Merc. was only faster.

I own a Citroen C5 at present (one of the latest models, not the older one) and it's in a different league to the Passat, for example, for style, comfort and reliability has been spot on after 4 years ownership now. Never even had to change a bulb in it. How can you fault that?

@dncviorel have you driven both cars ? they are very different experiences but are both essentially motorway machines, the Citroen is unbelievably comfortable and smooth, the Audi A6 is harsh in comparison but its quick and feels like pure quality and trust me when you have been driving on the motor way for 6 hours having the seats and suspension of the Citroen is a great comfort. but i suppose its all opinion

@7477238 Citroen stopped selling cars in Canada in the early '70s... :-( Hydropneumatic (this is the name of its suspension whitch is also fitted in the Citroen C5 and in the '60s was bought from Rolls Royce and Mercedes-Benz) is just the best type of suspension you can get the last 56 years now...! :-)

I have a S6 and i love it. Unluckly, i cannot have a C6 because i live in canada and is too expensive to bring it to canada from france. Still, there's not a better car than german ones!!! S6 first BMW 545i second C6 third~!!!

I thank God, that there are options, that i can choose a mercedes or BMW or Audi....

The C6 is not a car... Every big Star is driving a S-class, a lot of bad presidents drive mercedes....

@stephensamperi I own a C6 and trust me, you could not get me to exchange it for any or all of the cars you have listed, not even a Bentley which costs 3+ times as much. It is truly unique to look at and absolutely fabulous to drive. Lincolns, Lexi and Cadillacs are garbage trucks in comparison.

During his 12 years as president, he used a Renault Safrane, Renault Vel Satis, Peugeot 607 and in 2005 he gets a Citroen C6.

So Sarkozy used the same Citroen C6, but 2 years ago, he decided to buy a new Renault Vel Satis, modified (longer that a usual Vel Satis)

I totally agree, the DS is a magnificient car. I would love driving one. And it's not that expensive (in France, I don't know in other country), you can have one in good state for 3000-5000 euros.

I agree with you Mouse649, I took one out for a test drive last year while my Xantia HDI was being serviced. Without doubt the C6 is a truely stunning car in every way. It has beautiful lines and a fantastic engine... I hope you enjoy your's.

I have just bought a used one from Citroen in the UK, the 2.2HDi exclusive model with 6 speed manual gearbox, storm grey with cream leather interior. It is just 11 months old with only 2,500 miles on the clock. Having seen the car and test driven it on Saturday I can only say that this is one of the most stunningly beautiful cars on the road today and it only cost £18,000 compared to the original price of £35,000 for a new one. If this had a Mercedes badge on it would have cost twice that.

actually no. C6 is made to ECE spec. ECE and NHTSA FMVSS standards are deliberately incompitable to prevent importation of ECE specced cars. only USA, Canada and Japan have their own standards. ECE is used everywhere else

True, but the SM maserati was the less reliable from all citroens, due due is engines problem, and corrosion problems due to italian steel low quality in the 70's. I think the C6 is a far better quality than SM, and is following the roots of DS and CX. :)
