To be fair, the reason why they show that opening scene is because the entire first three quarters of the game is told as a flashback. The flashback ends when they get to this point, which is why they show it.

I was forced to make a copy of it with DVD decyptor..but you'll then need swap magic to play it. It's better to buy a new one.

Just as a side comment about the whole tidus name thing; its been speculated that no one says his name at all is because he never really existed. He was just Shuyins ghost...but obvious answer is because SE cant just program people to say whatever name you give him.
