  • Currently building a JDM DOHC ZC for boozt (already had matching 5spd from muh 88 crx si I sold recently afta removing all goodiez) Brand new forged rodz,pistonz,etc...) Juzt got through swapping a built JDM B16 / Y1 LSD into muh 91 CRX 1.6i-VT 052211 (search BiGZ on HT + oTHa FoRuMZ for PiX since no links allowed??? ) Still tuning + dressin bay wiring, but LuV iT! :)

  • BTW Ya'll - 20k later, and it still RAPEZ brand new (+ otha) ridez that folk seem to be determined to prove themselvez in for some reason! No TUNE = NO LIFE!

  • @ everyone! Look, this vid os over 3 years old now and ALOT has changed since then.(bigger HOLSET snail,1K inj'z,custom topmount manifold, more RARE OEM partz,etc...) I WILL be posting new (and betta) vidz of muh 88 sedan, + muh 91 CRX 1.6i-VT soon as I get time... Oh,and for da haterz-doesn't affect me,none!!! ,and yeah,I realize that I type w/ Z'zzzzzzzz-Get ova iT! Hate on Deez Nutz,Bitchez! (quit living online HATIN,and get out there + BUILD something ALREADY!) :P Keep it SAFE!!!

  • were those 450cc dsm injectors? if so did you use a resistor box?

  • @Lsvtecbenny99 ,yes they were 450'z now 1000k cc pte'z. (and yes,a resistor box is required)

  • '88 is the best year bro! Totally different rear suspension from the '89-91 models. In an 12+yr old interview I have with Oscar Jackson(He won several endurance races in an '88 CRX) he explains that Honda felt they needed to change the rear suspension after '88 because the Civics/CRX's cornered too well and could be spun-out easily by inexperianced American drivers. I sold my Bullfrog cammed '88 Rex 8yrs ago now but still miss her dearly.

  • All NEW Videoz coming real soon! (Holset finally installed/tuned) Been busy w all 3 of my EFz (incuding latest 91 Crx "SiR"-gonna be after JDM B16A/Y1 LSD swap it came with installed-almost there!!!) Check back often, and I'll finally update this 3 year old vid... (and it will have proper audio, gotta hear that PSSSSSSSHT!) :)

  • is that seriously a built d15 haha is that the V-tec 1 or no V-tec?

  • @TheRallycrossKing Yes,(D16) But I also have a few D15 blockz az well.VTEC-E actually (for roller rockerz) :)

  • Respect for building up a EF 4door not to many people do those they stick to CRX or Hatchbacks! Nice Build. Any vids where you can hear it?

  • Dam u got one clean ass 4door man, I love it!!!

Import for life bro... keep it clean

  • awesome ride!

  • nice ef! u say ur also buildin a 88 crx? whats the details on that?

  • Thx Mang! Love my Hondaz, yup! Similar build (eaglez+vitaraz, but bigger snail,ALOT bigger!!!) Gonna see how far I can go with it,since I have buku d blockz anywayz... Stay Tuned!

  • Thanks mang, did what I cold w/ what I could get/had,lol.Stayed tuned soon for 2 more of my projects. Not that this one'll ever end... (1st gen crx + 2nd gen rex)

  • Dude you used some top notch parts! awsome love when ppl get to things right!

  • gay music, would have been heaps better to just cut music out when test driving and hear the car

  • Reading pwnz joo mang! See my otha vidz...

  • if u took off this gay song when you were test driving it i would had liked this video. but no it sucked.

  • Reading pwnz joo too mang! See my otha vidz...

  • is it a stock 1.6 or did you do a jdm swap i wanna do the same thing to my 88 civi its pretty badass though bro its an icon to the rest.

  • Thx,built USDM d16y8 bottom/d16y5 head (vtec e, for roller rockerz,custom cam, P+P'd and coated/cured everything w Techline performance coatingz,Forged Rodz,yada-but the case and head are USDM oem! :)

I have a JDM 3 stg vtec head keeping for future build, and I also collect D seriez blockz/headz,tranz,etc... (although my 88 crx haz a JDM close ratio 5 spd mated to d16a6 for now)

    saludos

  • Oh,and to Giova2774 Troll from El Salvador with no vidz of the bus he takes daily-it'z called YouTube yanked my original video that had great engine sound on it due to them not being able to make $ from the song I had on it,pfft! Get back on ur short bus,lil bi-yatch!

    Sincerely,

    BiGZ <---- Pwning LoZeRZ since 1967 :P

  • You can re-upload the original video with credit to the music artist in the video or discription..

  • Oh yeah? Ok,lemme see if i still have original vid. Thx 4 the info! Hated when they pulled it...

  • No slipping,at all-even under full boozt + sprayin! (the stage 4 pp a bit much for street but uzed to it now,no sitting at redlight w clutch in though, lol) Putting a stage 3 PP w same unsprung ACT 4 puck on next build...

  • what kinda power are you making in this car, these vitara and eagle setups have been known to hold some amazing power, guy in my local area had a daily driven vitara eagle setup and it made 400whp+ on full boost

  • Haven't dyno'd thiz build yet,but it'll light up both tires @ 55mph under boozt. (not clutching it to do so either) Luv it! Waiting for local track to have dyno day, soon I hope. Also currently building motor for my 88 Rex,Videoz coming...

  • hey how do you like your act 4 puck? have you had any problems with slipping?

  • Awesome dude, my buddy had the same car but with just a stock SIR with bolt-ons and it pulled hard.

Nice to see a turbo D with the Vitara pistons running well.

  • Thx,getting ready to build anotha Vitara'd bottom end for spare, perhapz for my 88 crx si...

  • NICE CAR !

    Love old civic's !

Have my own 1996 sedan with d16y8 .

I am keeping it 100 % stock from outside :)

  • Thx,LuV HoNDaZ,YuP! I'll check urz out soon...

  • i have a '96 sedan too, and i used to have a '91 that i would have kept but it was wrecked

  • Hey i have the exact same car as you. 4 door sedan LX model. =p however mine is automatic. Can you tell me where you bought your turbo? Can i use my original manifold or will i have to purchase a new one? Also where did you get yoru pillar guages? How much was the turbo and manifold? HOw much did you spend total modding your car?

  • another vid go9ine to crap cause youtube took the audio out

  • Werd, like I waz charging folk to hear original song,lmao...

  • Really nice work, so glad I found this vid! Can you tell me more about the DFL-1 coating? I'm getting ready to rebuild my turbo'd D16Z6 with the whole JFT/Vitara/ARP/ACL setup. Do you coat all sides of the bearings or just one? Do you have to cover the rings on the pistons when applying DFL-1? I figure $40+the cost of an airbrush is worth it to protect those vital parts, especially the piston skirts! Feel free to message me off the comments section...

  • Thx! Techline'z DFL-1 goez on journal contact side only on main + rod bearingz (facing the crank journalz),after lightly sandblasting (NOT glassbeading az it closez the metal'z "pores" and coating won't "stick") + cleaning w MEK or some other non-residual cleaner.Well worth the time/money for durability and check out their CBX for piston topz if turbo'd or Nitrous. Mazk off the ring landz before spraying/curing in oven (I uzed an old ring to clean any coating b4 installing new ringz)

  • man if your gonna go all out like that you should of went for a bigger motor such as the B16 or B18...that was a waist of time...but still nice thought

  • Nah,too much fun watching b seriez folk (and v8'z) going,"Damn!,WTF?" The look on their facez iz Pricelezz, lmao! And why u hating? Not a "waste" of my time,at all (or my $) Az I do ALL my work, except for machine work. But thx for da "thought" anywayz,I think... :P

  • Please tell me you're kidding about the bigger motor being a b16. They may have a few more CCs but they have almost the same amount of tq as a d16. No thanks...ill keep my d16 turbo anyday

  • Werd,so many folk are unaware of D seriez' potential when built correctly.Plus I'm never one to jump into building same thing everyone and their brother haz. (kinda same reason I Dig EF'z instead of later modelz) Currently building 2 blockz for my 88 Crx (one NA high CR,and identical Vitara boozted D16 like my sedan haz...)

  • need some vids of it gettin down man. lol

  • Soon, been buzy on 88 crx si project.Plan to make it out to local strip and get some new vidz of my sedan soon.(been waiting on spare set of axlez, lol) Theze are from right after break-in period, and it'z tuned alot more now.(lightz both tirez up @ 50 mph whenever I want it to) Not bad for a SOHC 4 banger, nope! :)

  • this shit is sick, saw it on cardomain

i have same exact car, its undr construction!

  • Thx,alot of work + $ but very worth it to me.Still have to finizh bodywork/paint (same OEM gothic gray) Currently working on my 88 crx si,trying to decide to boozt with exact setup as my sedan,or keep it allmotor with some PM7 pistonz I've been saving.(and it needz paint as well (someone painted it a shade or 2 darker then the original blade silver and didn't prep it,grrr!)Keep me posted on ur ride...

  • nice. u dont c 2 many ef sedans on boost. How r those vitara pistons holdin up? love the ride

  • Thx,yeah it kinda freakz some folk when they realize it can go! :) I LOVE EF'z! Vitara's are holding up great so far,(over 10K on em).Building another soon with 75.5mm Vitara pistonz I already have(have a JDM D15B block/crank,and several Y8 block/crankz) Also trying to decide whether to boozt my 88 CRX in similar manner,or stay all motor w/ PM7 pistonz + spray.Decisionz,lol...

  • nice car!whats the track?

  • Thx,actually its my daily and vid is from early in the break-in stage (both reasonz I'm not "smashing" on her too hard, and street racing'z like kissing your sister-makez no senze!) But she get'z me to the speed limit w the quicknezz... ;) Closest track to me is like an hour away and I WILL pozt new vid soon az I get some drag radialz and make it there.Juzt got an 88 CRX Si project started...

  • hey, what would u suggest is the best way to get a smooth take off with that clutch. I got a 3 puck unsprung on a teg n im having trouble figuring out how to launch it smoothly.

  • Well,my CM stage 4 pressure plate is either in or out. There's no real way to "slip" it any.Took awhile to get used to as a daily, lol.

Definitely don't sit at a light with clutch in if using a very high pressure setup as it WILL ruin you cranks thrust bearing, and you'll develop unwanted "crankwalk"! (I coated all of my bearings with TechLine coatings, but still leave clutch out until needed, might use a lighter pressure plate next time for daily)The difference in pedal from stock is tremendous...

  • did u do an auto to manual swap 2

  • It was already 5spd,just made it LSD...

  • sweet job

  • Appreciate it,got another project 88 CRX Si started now ("RoXy").Vid when complete,az well az new vid for the 4dr ("BeTZy") soon :)

  • Congrats men, wonderful job.

  • Thx! Waz worth the wait I had to endure being w/o driving her for some time collecting all of the partz...

  • awsome

  • Thx!
