There are LOTS of tunnels in Rafah. This is how weapons are smuggled in. The family in the house that Rachel died defending did not have tunnels. That's not why those particular houses were destroyed. The IDF was widening the border strip with Egypt.

All she had to do was walk out the door of her home and see the Indian victims of a real genocide and of a suffering at least 1000 times greater in terms of land lost and people killed than the Palestinians.

During the civil war fighting in Gaza last week a Fatah government spokesman complained in a tv interview that Hamas has now 100's of tunnels under the border and is using them to smuggle in all the arms they used last week to kill so many other Palestinians.
Quite a cooincidence isn't it, that the Palestinians themselves admit that at exactly at the location Corrie died there are now 100's of tunnels being used to smuggle weapons.

Rachel Corrie's approach was mindless. She ignored the realities of the constant Palestinian assault on Israel - the suicide bombings and rockets which were regularly occurring in Israel. Instead, she embraced the perceived "downtrodden," when these people have only been hurting themselves. There is no doubt that if Palestinians only acknowledge Israel's right to exist - Israel would be the first in line to offer humanitarian aid.

Your hypothesis is intriguing but lacks any factual or historical basis. Palestinians were evicted from their land because of their race and religion. Israel has a "de jure" segregation policy that can only be described as APARTHEID. Rachel did not ignore attacks on Israel, but recognized that this is an asymmetric conflict.

The house she was defending had NO TUNNELS. Check the reports. The house was destroyed as the IDF thought it was too close to the EGYPTIAN border (not border with Israel). Rachel did not support terrorists. He's never had a tunnel to Egypt- that's preposterous. The IDF dug a 15 foot trench around the house in October of 2003 to destabilize the foundation before knocking it down while the family was held at gunpoint in the rubble of their former neighbor's house. There ARE tunnels in Rafah- mostly for smuggling cigarettes and guns- but not there. Anyway, Samir is a pharmacist, not a doctor. Sources is spelled with a "c," and mine are primary.

There were 7 US and UK eyewitnesses + many other Palestinians. The IDF interviewed NONE of them for the official investigation. Larry Wilkerson, Colin Powell's Chief of Staff said that the Israeli investigation was not thorough or accurate as George Bush requested. I personally know the family that was in the house- we traveled together in the US in 2005. I have pictures and film.
