  • Like how u did handlebars wanna do that to my iron does it hit the tank when u turn?? And from what I read u just flip them and u have to adjust clutch cable!! What about throttle cable???

  • @exgratiataiii I went to two different Harley shops and took at the iron 883 and I can't tell you how much better I think it looks with flipped bars but say it out loud in a shop and they look at you like you asked to flip the engine upside down or something.

  • hey it looks like it would e real uncomfortable to ride with forward controls and the handlebars flipped ... how was it ?

  • @msufan8854 i was thinking the exact same thing.

  • love the flipped handle bars looks sweeet

  • hey nice bike! After you wrap the pipes do you need to get the fuel remapped at all?

  • @exgratiaiii WHERE DID YOU GET IT?

  • Bike doesn't look much like this anymore. So, no... I can't post riding vids...

  • no homo ... can you take a picture of riding position? or video of u riding it?... again no homo lol

  • awesome bike ... no doubt ... looks like an angry bull with that flipped the bar ... watched this 30000 times ... .had a question

    1. how comfortable is the ridding position?

    2. is it confortable for long road trip or cruise around couple of miles and thats it??

    3. is it suitable for a heavy traffic road just as Manhattan? ..

thanks in advance for your time!

  • Im new to the flipped bars. is it that easy? just litterally flippin the bars, or is that a term used to describe a type of bar?

  • hey just curious... what's your ride position like with the flipped bars and how tall are you?

  • so those are the stock bars and you've fliped them?

  • Hey man, I checked out this vid a looong time ago and I just got my sportster recently. Flipped the bars and now the throttle is a little sticky. Did you have this problem? Is it cause I need to get shorter throttle cables maybe? Or just re-adjust the the cables? I feel like I need to adjust my clutch cable as well its really stickin out in front of my headlight lol. by the way, love your ride.

  • The clutch could bind up a bit, might try re-routing it. As far as the cables go, you'll need to adjust the cables slightly, as they are binding and not allowing the throttle body to snap back into place.

  • dude, wich wrap brand did you get? is it good so far? I want to wrap my pipes and lookin for a good quality wrap. DEI? thermo tech?

  • DEI

  • thats a bad ass bike...i just flat blacked my honda vtr & polished the frame...next i want to wrap the exhaust in exhaust wrap & paint it black...thanks for sharing! happy new year!

  • What is the wrap people put around their exhaust pipes?

    looks cool.

  • There are two different mounting points on the frame and two different sets of controls, respectively. Not as simple as just "moving them."

But the process is easy, yes.

  • Nice bike bro, do you have forward controls on your bike?

  • I did in that video, but have since moved back to mids.

  • hey im really really new to the bike world so im sorry if this is a dumb question but im looking at getting a iron 883 and i absolutely love the look with your handlebars. are they aftermarket bars or what did you do to get that look?

  • Those are just sock bars, flipped upside-down.

  • dude i dig the look of your iron with the flipped bars. First time i saw these bikes i thought they were screaming for a more cafe racer look...

  • Can we get some video of you riding it ? I want to see how uncomfortable it will look if at all. Also the bars have a divot for the wires how did you manage NOT to pinch the wires coming out of your housings? thanks great bike btw

  • Doesn't look much like this anymore, and it's not uncomfortable at all... I've got long arms, so the bars weren't out of reach.

you can route the wires in the housing wherever you want, or you could wire 'em internally.

  • Yeah, these are definitely more cruisers. I was just curious. Thanks a lot man, appreciate it!

  • what is the top speed of the stock 883 with the screamin' eagle (if that makes a difference)?

  • I have no idea, it gets up to 100+ fairly easily, and 115 with the wind at your back and downhill and a few minutes of straight-away, haha...

I ride twisties more though, not too concerned about top speed.

  • 0-60= how many seconds?

    thanks!

  • Mine does 0-60 in about 7 seconds.. and I'm a pretty big guy, too. Not that slow but it's nothing you would want to race with.

  • i love the look of those bars. but is it really comfortable?im only 5'5 and i think i would b stretched out way to much. i was thinking about short apes but i rather have that. what do you think

  • nice bar's

  • i don't like that throttle cable over the front shocks.

    otherwise its perfect.

  • Very nice IRON

  • dude we must see you ride it.... lol

  • i agree .

ride it ,ride it, ride it

  • i'm 5'9'...what would be like for me to ride this bike?

  • normal, hight doesnt really matter, its a matter of how well you will be able to control the bike

  • did the smoke finally die down from the wrap, what did you do?

  • The smoke is just the HT Spray curing, it goes away.

  • does it move?

  • Are those the black or chrome short shots? Just curious which ones you wrapped. Did you have to get it tuned after adding the exhaust? Sorry for all the questions...ha

  • They were chrome, but it doesn't matter, those are just the heat shields, which I took off to wrap the pipes...

  • are the heat shields easy to come off.. i want the pipes just not the heat shields. lol. btw sweet ass bike

  • Did you get your forward control kit through Harley? Do they mount on the very front of the frame or a ways back?

  • They are the Harley controls, and they mount on the front/lower part of the frame. If you look at a Sportster, you can see the mounting points, 2 bolts on each side. They hold a J-clip in place.

  • so im picking up my iron tomorrow. stoked. gonna put samson all-black shorties on it. im into the flipped bars , looks mean!hows the ride/ ride position differ?

  • Just lower, more forward and hunkered down. Not too bad for me though, I'm 6'4" with pretty long arms.

  • sweet pipes bro

  • Whats up man nice bike ... I just got a Iron like a month ago but its still stock... I like those flipped bars especially cause you didn't spend any money doing it.. Anyways other than actually flippin the bars them self what adjustments did you do make on the hand contols (clutch, accelerator, front brake)??

  • I did feed my clutch cable through the triple trees, and fed it down the right side downtube. Otherwise it would bind a bit, but now it's like buttah!

  • Oh, and I moved the front brake line around a bit. I'm going to run a stainless steel braided line soon. Swapping out the master cylinder for a larger one.

  • what kind of pipes are those?

  • V&H Short Shots minus the Heat Shields.

  • so all you do is just flip the handle bars? no other kit or anything needed? amazing bike

  • Nope, just about an hour of your time, if you've changed bars before...

  • great job!

    keep it up!

  • nice fucking bike i like the setup. howd you flip the bars and where did you get those pipes?

  • You gotta flip 'em side to side, so the pull-back is still toward the rider. Just...flip 'em. Like a normal bar-swap.

The pipes are just V&H Short Shots Staggered minus the heat shields and plus black exhaust wrap.

  • Simply Beautiful !!!!!

  • that looks fuckin sick....i agree with the wrapped pipes...looks way better.

  • why did u do the wrapping ? why did you not get the vance&hines Shortshots Staggered Black ?!!

  • Because everyone and their mom has 'em on their Iron/Nightster...

And I think this looks better.

I love how people comments on others' bikes as though we don't know what we're doing or what we like.

  • because he prefers the wrap

    its his bike afterall..

  • badass. did you just flip the stock bars? i might get one tomorrow, if i can get financed...it doesn't look too comfy with the forward controls...might want to try some mids...then call it a cafe racer!!

  • Are you telling ME to try mids? Mids came on the bike, I put forwards on it cause I liked the feel better. I'm fairly tall and the setup works well.

Rearsets would make it have a more cafe geometry, and that's not what I want.

  • i like the bars.. where is your mirrors?

    is that legal? -NY State

  • My mirrors ARE just under the bar. In Texas you only need the left one, though I put both back on.

  • How long did the wraps smoke for? I'm getting ready to do my pipes this weekend. Did it leave any residue on the bike?

    Thanks,

  • It's not the wrap that is smoking, it's the High Temp Silicone Spray recommended to keep the wrap's color. Smoked for a little while, but did most of the curing after a few longer rides. No residue issues with that stuff, just smells terrible.

  • This is great! I hope he will do a walk around and close-up video of the stuff he has done. I'm sold on the 883 Iron.

  • yea he just flipped them

  • nice... did you turn the dragbar around or is it a replacement for the original?
