  • 0:42 Why do the Helghast from the Killzone games look a lot like the soldiers from this movie? Is is an homage? Coincidence? Or maybe a ripoff?

  • @jagarcia0705 The Protect Gear is Based off of Nazi soldiers as they appeared wearing gas masks and the Helghast are based off of the Protect gear from Jin-Roh.

  • @shizaquife Now it makes sense. Bennet the Sage reviewed this movie in a segment called Anime Abandon.

  • Now i know where helghasts got their designs from..

  • This looks amazing. I can't wait to watch it!!

  • is there an english dub for this film?

  • does anyone know where i can watch the dub omline please ?

  • @barcakid101 anilinkz(dot)com/jin-roh-the-wolf-brigade

  • One of the Greatest Animes ever made ...

  • @tuberoako777 I agree. But to be fair, we can still dig and find more artsy anime works nowadays. It reminded me of Now and Then, Here and There--that anime is gorgeous, in all facets.

  • ...and that's why I really dislike dubbing..the voice actors are absolute garbage and usually turn a great anime into an unwatchable piece of garbage.

  • After checking out the more popular animes of the 90s then comparing to today's, the artstyle seems to have gotten stale or even degraded..

less illusion of depth and less shots and animations with 3 point perspectives? Not to mention it feels that there's less frames per second with action highlights..

Hmm.. or am I too biased being a 21 year old who loved the Ninja scroll, Yu Yu Hakusho, El Hazard era?

  • @tuberoako777 I completely agree with you

  • @tuberoako777 I'm with you 100%. There could be other factors at play, but it seems computer technology has made animators lazier. Old-school cel animation is way better than 99% of new shit out there.

  • woah the ending of this video was heart-wrenching

  • PANZER COPS FTW!!!

  • ti wish he make the other cerberus serie on anime oshii

  • HEIL HEIL HEIL ZIEG HEIL HEIL HEIL HEIL

  • this movie is awesome. Not as much action as ghost in the shell or others of similar kind, but it's a great tale.

  • SS strikes much??

  • This anime is a classic. If you find the story not to your liking, you can at least appreciate it as being a work of art.

  • Good god I hate dubs

  • @bowenjuice go dress as a cop and go shoot the dubbers then bum

  • This is an Anime for people who read Harry Turtledove. Heh.

  • @sdhubbard I'll gun the race of your south any day. Actually no, that failed as an attempt to reference his work. But you know what I mean.

  • @MAI742 You have an Iron Heart, my friend. ;)

  • @sdhubbard Oh, you. :p

  • MOTHER, WHAT A BIG GUN YOU HAVE

  • @TheCountCrumpet You know nothing

  • @D0suKinuta dude you have naruto as your picture so your opinion on anime is instantly worthless.

  • @TheCountCrumpet pendejo

  • @kl24ntr malaka mo

  • @TheCountCrumpet jodete puto .i.

  • hell of an anime 5/5

  • Ahhhh it the vioces of kagome monica stori ^^

  • 212000 viewer aaww yeaaa

  • those red eyed guys look like helghasts from killzone :D

  • @Javakotka1 The the Helghast soldier concept design was inspired by the Kerberos Saga. I think it's awesome that they openly say that since this is also a great series!

  • fuck yeah killzone

  • @DOOMF22

Yeah man, dude like yesterday, I beat up an old lady and stole her purse. Cool right? Yeah man...

  • That soundtrack rips my heart to shreds. So much that I'd cry.

  • I have to say, Jin-Roh is one of my favorite movies. Ever. Period. This, coming from someone who generally doesn't care too much for most japanese film or animation(or anyones, for that matter) Films like this, are true art. Few things were as moving as this.

  • @WitheringintheDark you should try watch more anime's then there are lots of similar great things as Jin-Roh

:D Who knows you might like it more then you think

  • Ye gods that art is gorgeous!

  • Looks awesome

  • The sniper shot Kei.

  • 13 People Got raped by a wolf.

  • He must have slapped this shitty concept out in no time.

I bet he really wanted to show an alternate history where Japan won the war but that wouldn't have been very PC.

  • @benitofinito this is a good movie, but you're just being a prejudiced douchebag slamming a movie you apparently haven't watched yet. Super Faggot here folks

  • @Magnificoooooo It's boring and shit that's opinion so go fuck yourself OK

  • @benitofinito

    1) This Movie franchise existed long before Jin Roh.

    2) Japan does not care for PC. They worship War Criminals as gods, for crying out loud.

You have no idea what this movie is about and lecture people on stuff you have no understanding of. It might be your opinion that it sucks, but I get the feeling, there was a severe lack of explosions and bloodshed to keep your ADD from kicking in.

This is viewed as masterpiece by a lot of professional critics, whether you like it or not.

  • @MDNemesis This is GOOD MOVIE!!! and Japan not worship war criminals

    1 it is a fantasy

2 it is WHAT IF GERMANY will rule JAPAN

3 it is ABOUT LOVE AND CRUEL FATE OF PEOPLE!

4 THIS IS EPIC AND GREAT!

  • @SASORI5140

Yasukuni Jinja is a shrine where all Japanese Soldiers (that fought for the Tenno) during and after the Meiji Restoration are enshrined and worshipped. This also counts for war criminals. That was my point. Of course not every japanese person worships them, but most japanese politicians pay their respect at the shrine annually which leads to a lot of foreign criticism.

I do concur about the quality of the movie, it is a great work and I love it.

  • @MDNemesis I went there(Yasukuni Jinja) and i wanna say

    War Criminals are Governments

but not a ordinary soldiers who obey commanders (if not obey they were killed) so i think war is bad but people is not

p.s i love japan but hate racism

Racism and Nazism does not have any nationality

    it must be stopped

    Peace Bro no offence!!

  • One of the few "mature" anime. Beautiful story ...

  • can't beat the old school classics... this, curse of the yoma, battle angel alita, and if I push it, Princess Mononoke...

  • Someone mixed up Hajime Mizoguchi with Yoko Kanno. While both worked on music for Escaflowne but it was Yoko that did Macross Plus...

  • @scythedd7

mizoguchi hajime is a man. kanno yoko is a woman.

and mizoguchi is a cellist. I have gone to his concert.

  • @DaiTetsujin17 I am aware of that lol. They mixed up what he worked on in the credits of this video saying he worked on Escaflowne (yes) and Macross Plus (no). Yoko did both though, so who ever originally edited this trailer must have mixed the two up.

  • THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GERMANY TAKES OVER JAPAN!!

  • @ThePlaceCannel we get wolf men in gas masks and MG-42s? not that I disapprove or anything...

  • @username12120 no you get Epic Super Cops.

  • @username12120 yeaah who need gas mask and carrying heavy weapon just as assault weapon?? lol

  • @username12120 Mg 34

  • @rageagaintstheNWO Really? well thanks for the correction, they both look bloody similar.

  • @rageagaintstheNWO

username is right, this is an mg42.

but propably other people already told you, i dont know.

  • @ThePlaceCannel you mean carrying heavy weapon and gas mask?? German never brought useless equipment

  • @auvar100 No i meant the Creation to an Epic anime and eventually an inspiration of one of videogames greates badguys.. the Helghast Empire. But true a Gernaby ruled Japan would be k?

  • Jin-Roh from malay languange. Jin is Genie, Roh is Spirit. =P

  • I loved this film! The beginning started off a little slow for me but once it got to a certain part I was hooked!!! O__O Awesome film!!!! XD

  • "What big claws you have what big teeth you have" Wut

  • Hi, this is an awesome anime full of metaphors but there is one thing i did not fully understand.

What does Fuse being a "Beast inside" means? Is he a killer inside? A soldier that must follow his duty no matter what? Or is this a thing of Fuse actually being a supernatural being, a "wolf disguised as man"?

    What did everyone think?

  • @ghoraaa I think it means that his loyalty to the 'pack' outweighed his feelings for the girl. This may have been a message about rigid Japanese society in which people are expected to take on life-roles based on their gender, background and breeding, far more so than in the west. Fuse is trapped - literally and emotionally. He can't be anything other than a member of the Capitol Police. He doesn't know how to be.

  • Now this is what I call anime, not these dumb big eyed aliens freaks.

  • i have this movie but the sound stopped working any suggestions how to fix it

  • @metal220 digitally reattach the cyber glands back to the audio shader transperancy

  • @totaLybeetLeJuice idk how to do that lol

  • @metal220 On what type of media do you have this movie? DVD? VHS? Or something else? Forgive me my english - it's not my native language ;) But i think that i might be able to help You.

  • @BluesBoySid mine is DVD. the sound just stops at 1 point in the movie bout when the guy throws the cocktail at the police. but if u fast forward it sound is there but goes away again

  • One of the most underrated anime ever!

  • I dont care about those damn comments...all i want is to coment how great this movie is that i watched today...the ending is very shocking and sad, i will never forget. I just give up of waiting for a good movie of North America.

  • Didn't get much understanding from the trailer. Can any briefly explain the plot please.

  • i remember seeing this trailer on my 08th MS Team dvd

  • This is pathetic. People are on here flaming and raging each other like a bunch of ignorant fools. Have you ever heard of influence? have you ever heard of collective consiousness? Sheesh, stop saying someone stole from someone all the damn time. The mask resemble Killzone's Helghast, but it doesn't mean Killzone STOLE from here. Sheeesh. Stop saying Westerns steal from the easterns all the f***ng time too. It's old, and false. Enjoy the trailer for this great looking movie peeps. smfh.

  • @teeswaga

If your talking about basic agriculture and the precursor to gun powder then it's a yes, the west did copy those, but all the rest is copied from the west. Nuclear power, radio, cars, television (I'm talking about the machine as a worthwhile tool) robotics, space travel, flight, computers, electronics, industrialization. I can go on forever, the reality is, the vast majority of technological discoveries were made by white man.

  • @Trollawk

Sounded pretty racist there didn't it, umm, well anyway history is history I can't help it :S

  • @Trollawk one of the first televisions was invented in japan in 1926.

a yagi antenna was invented in japan and radio / television broadcasting wouldn't exist without it. a plasma display panel television was invented in japan. a blue light emitting diode was invented in japan and a liquid crystal display television wouldn't exist without it.

  • @RX78 proove it, cite a source.

  • @name20411 there are many sources on books or internet.

search "kenjiro takayanagi" or "yagi antenna" or "junichi nishizawa" or "shuji nakamura" or "tsutae shinoda" on internet.

  • @Trollawk some of those were invented in asia, though the history was complex.

generally the west was uncivilized before the renaissance. and over half technologies in the renaissance originated in asia. the west improved it.

a compass, paper and letterpress printing was invented in china. glass was invented in iraq and egypt. arabic numerals were invented in india and loads of technologies wouldn't exist without it.

  • @RX78 of course be aware would you, that several inventions were simultaneously invented at roughly the same time in history.

  • Lotsa old german weapons . Like it !

  • LOL at all the anime nerds so mad cuz someone said the mask looks like killzone.. guess what it DOES.. dont need to get mad about it.. deal wit it

  • @ps3thug umm, i'm not a big anime fan, and i don't really play video games, i watched this movie, and i briefly looked at that game. i didn't really read the comments, but if people are getting "angry" then i can understand. because the people from that game were obviously influenced by this, and these people were influenced by samurai armour and nazi helmets. how about you deal with the fact that some game company ripped the idea off of a directors movie/anime. "deal with it"

  • NEVER DOUBT ANIME TOT AKE FROM GAMES ... ONLY AMERICANS STEAL SHIT FROM JAPANESE REMEMBER THAT ,,, MATRIX STOLE FROM GHOST IN THE SHELL LOADS OF THINGS ..... INCEPTION FROM PAPRIKA ..... THEY NEVER MAKE ANYTHING ORIGINAL

  • @Cobac =/ u mad?

  • @Cobac Yes, the Japanese don't try to emulate anything western, little red riding hood is totally a Japanese fairy tale. :P And by the way, Inception was a British production, not American.

  • @Cobac actually most japanese animation techniques (the early ones that is) began in france and the US, also most of those plots can be traced to older stories and ideas as well as similtanious concepts.

    also obvious troll is obvious

  • 人狼はkillzoneが発表される前に制作され世に出たアニメです。

    人狼は2000年ですね。

    もっと言うと、1991年に押井守監督がケルベロス~地獄の番犬に遡ります

  • @newnagasaki

Are you fucking kidding me? The first Killzone basically failed in the the market as well with critics, and this movie was even before it.

And where in the hell do you think those masks came from? From fucking WWI you dumbfuck. It's a historical object, it exists in real life, look out your goddamn window to see what real life is. It looks like you've been playing too much video games that you're starting to lose track of real life.

  • Is this killzone movie??

  • @axenwar

    did you read comments?

  • @RX78 is this killzone movie?

  • FOR ALL THE IDIOTS WHO SAY THIS IS THANKS TO KILLZONE OR STOLEN FROM KILLZONE THIS MOVIE IS FROM WAY BEVORE KILLZONE

  • the dub fucking sucks, watch in original japanese, much much much better

  • @ThirstyDad65 =/ thats your opinion.. i think all japanese voices sound dumb and over act.. boom.. i win..

  • @ps3thug that's because you're a retarted faggot

  • MOTHER WHAT BIG CLAWS YOU HAVE!!!!......lol

  • Greatest anime cartoon, with industrial style(without crazy movements and faces)!!!

    Also like AKIRA!

  • look the release date of jin roh and than look at the release date of kill zone ... how could someone think it´s a movie about killzone(btw nice game),.. but the movie is awesome!!!

And that are not germans that are only weapons and armor stuff ... cause the Axis won the WW2 in the movie and thats how it looks like in japan after you win the war ^^

  • It looks like very good movie :)

  • All the better to eat you with!!!

  • Awesome movie.

  • Germans... Fuck Yeah =)

Why always we are the bad guys in movies? That´s really overused. Like with the "bad" Russians...

  • one of the few animes I consider as worth for a hollywood real life movie. but they should at least make it really good ;)

  • "We are not men disguised as mere dogs. We are wolves disguises as men." One of the best lines I have ever heard, that sold the whole movie for me right there. A true classic. Screw those who think cartoons are just for comedy and children.

  • @EntertainmentIsGood

I think they got motivated by: Homo homini lupus

  • @JustGoVids Nice observation, gives me a great idea on finding good quotes for my own project.

  • @EntertainmentIsGood

    General Knowledge pwns everything. :)

  • @JustGoVids By general you mean knowledge that is within reach or common O_o because I certainly didn't know that homo homini lupus thing though it's not surprising that such a saying existed.

  • @EntertainmentIsGood

I mean knowledge that is common. Well, I had to look the correct sentence in the internet, but I knew that it existed and I knew the meanings. ;) But I think it's because the great philosophy teaching here in Germany. :)

  • This movie made me bawl dammit ;___;

  • Killzone anime greato;)

  • los helghast salen ahi

  • Jin-Roh is VERY×1000 SAD movie.

  • @sassakashun2 Sad, but awesome. Well written and animated. Cried so much XD but loved every moment of it.

  • This anime looks interesting.

  • I wonder they should make a sequel.

  • this inspierd killzone helghast armor i love the movie

  • this film shows once again (Akira already showed for ever and ever) the superiority of hand painted cels... C'mon... don't you get it??? its 100times better then digital cel-shading. It kicks ass... Wachosky brothers didn't believe that it was possible but Oshii showed them clearly: the only scene using CG is the one where the train rolls... they used CG to draw the lines in polygonal graphic to reproduce a digital rotoscope-like effect. The rest is 100% hand made!

  • @ghostdog7575

I agree with you that most hand done animation looks better but there are several new movies that are quite well digitally shaded. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is an excellent example, at least the same level of detail but without the noise. I wish that animators had continued to use hand painting through the early 2000's though, until very recently it was far superior.

  • @tormaid42 you are right. Now the goal is to find the right balance between digital and "analogic" work. Miyazaki is doing quite well on that front but studio ghibli is obviously a different matter. The Disappearance is indeed a good work. The problem comes when computer is used as a shortcut. See for example with Otomo: Project freedom has the same character design, same art, same director of Akira. But: Akira is masterpiece animation while PF is rubbish! Cel shaded 3D dummies are horrible!

  • Best Japanese Anime I have ever seen. I am not a big fan of them, but movies like this one really did it for me. Gotta order myself the Blu Ray version.

  • Killzone: Damnation.

  • Prequel to Killzone

  • this movie is so good! I don't know, why I've never seen it before... 5*

  • ThnXXX for sharing!

  • lol Nazi storm elite

  • ugh the dub is fucking awful.

  • @trippyay It's not that bad, not as bad as some.

  • @trippyay

Considering the dub was supervised by the director of the Japanese voice actors? Just saying it's not awful if you just have poor taste.

  • So good...

  • Gotta say, this film was painful to watch.

  • @spookymcfuzzy because it was sad, or just that bad??? lol

  • this is one of my best comedy movies 5/5 star

  • You may not think so, but the red riding hood story works extremely well through out the movie. This movie is up there with Shawshank Redemption for me.

  • @Aquilius1 this movie was build around the red riding hood story if i'm not wrong. they are not just losely basing it in the red riding hood story, but in fact the core. I won't go as far as a retelling of the story, but if you really pay attenction the story line corespont to the red riding hood story. not just reference and all that specialty the ending. I don't know I could have word the whole differently, but that's the best i can do lol hope you catch my drift.

  • @convergeme220

this movie came out in '99, long before killzone, maybe the art directors of killzone used these guys as inspiration for the helghast, but no, they do not tie together.

  • @alaskaboy101 Killzone Devs said they got the inspiration of Helghast from Jin-Roh.

  • @FLIPINOM4D thats so unfair they cant call killzone armour 'inspired' by this movie, its totally ripped off and copied.

  • @FLIPINOM4D Seems to be a little more than just inspiration! I remember when killzone first came out and I was like...what the! I've seen these dudes before! All good though, helghast looked badass, they def kicked it up a notch :) Go Guerilla!

  • A beautiful film, but very very sad :(

  • Wait so are those cool dudes German or Japanese?

  • Japanese. Obviously since Japanese were allies with the German Nazis, they probably based off the MG42 and stuff from the German weapons

  • they are japanese but they wear german uniform. Its an alternate present where the allies lost WW2

  • ugh... seems you really can't expect anything from dubs... "father what big teeth you have!" wow, horrible...

  • Sounds enough like "mother" to me.

  • To me, too :]

  • @Djalmanac

The implementation's good. Watch the film, it'll make a lot more sense in context. That scene's actually been set up through the whole film. All things considered, I'd say this is probably up there along with GITS and Trigun for Dub quality. There's never really any damage to versimilitude due to the dub.

  • I can't find this film anywhere.

  • i love how the trailer is aware of the subtlety of the "path of pins" and "path of needle". Although it could have just been direct translation from a Japanese trailer.

  • Fantasporto is in Portugal,my country hehe :D !!Saw it yesterday, very very good, hell yeah,i love the japanese world, these guys are the best...

  • the movi3 you can see it online for free h @ MOOV ZON . COM g00gle the link above

  • I didn't see the movie but it looks nice, and it looks more like a real movie than a cartoon.

  • the voices are kinda funny if its on english dub..

  • i think someone at Guerrilla games( killzone) saw this movie of 1999. huh !! ; )

    =)

  • :S, i dont know whether to watch this :L

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I hate anime, but this is damn good

  • One of the last Hand Drawn animes with no computer help.

  • Anyone knows where I can download this trailer?
