Why has it always been acceptable to treat our children like little doggies that need universal, redundant and meaningless pacifier songs (such as universal "clean up song " or variations on the theme) as here ? To get them to move along because we are busy? Have no time have to frantically run to the next appointment, etc., etc. It is nauseating, patronizing and disgusting.
A much better way, treating our children as equal little beings, would be to
sleep; roar to the hippo, ouch, bye go away, see you; At least from a DEVELOPMENTAL perspective then, we would not be inculcating the poor mantric message of "Let's get going, busy, busy busy, so, therefore, I will feed you this pablum", but actually slowing down and respectfully and meaningfully Engaging them and encouraging their symbolic thinking (e.g., saying by to their toys and go to sleep tiger, sh!) and their linguistic abilities. This would be MUCH MORE RESPECTFUL rather than
