Hmm, except Shonda clearly established that the timing and the baggage both had was the reason for the problems, not bad chemistry. Plus Joey and Rachel couldn't even make love at all. Izzie described her first time with George as the best sex of her life and even though the other times were bad, they did it several times, something Joey and Rachel could never do AT ALL.
