I agree, why did this man not win!!?? It is obvious that they were thinking in terms of a large vegas act when you look at the effort that went into the productions of his final numbers wtih Agt. What the hell went wrong? Did they think he waas tooooo risque for vegas? is it possible? Why Hasn't Vegas snapped him up anyway? are they just FOOOOOOLISH???? Maybe they dont really like money in Vegas...It seems to me that the prince would be a huge draw..

Disregarding what other people might think of him, I think he is amazing. He manages to perform opera styled music, but keep a young audience captivated. There is nobody else I know who can pull that off. I love his style,voice, everything. I hope to see him tour the world.

His voice is too weak for this material, and his flippancy ruins the gravity and emotional intensity of the piece. Whilst an entertaining vaudeville act, I shant expect to see this man on an operatic playbill.

@PrincePoppycockLover Respectfully, while I greatly admire John for both his artistic ability (in general) and, more specifically, the quality of his singing (which is phenomenal!) I would agree with RAA's assessment. "Pagliacci" is a deep and emotionally intense piece, and PP's rendition--as is his character--was light and flippant. That he was named the honorary mayor of a hollywood neighborhood and has performed in a prominent gay bar doesn't automatically add depth to this performance.

@PrincePoppycockLover That being said, I'd definitely pay to see the man; his talent is absolutely stellar and his performances are thoroughly entertaining. I wouldn't have ever thought that anyone other than Freddie Mercury could pull of Bohemian Rhapsody and do it *well*.

Which is good.

His voice and his whole persona would be perfect for Gilbert and Sullivan, actually. I'd love to see him do the Mikado.

He doesn't dress like a tranny, or wierd, or anything. The Prince Poppycock getup is bassed off of the French Baroque opera, art, and themes. What's French Baroque? Think Renissance France. Loius the Sun King, Versaille, ect. People dressed like that during the era. The costume is the what makes the act so entertaining.
