i got the 7900GTX when it came out just to play TES IV Oblivion, it worked great! and it was 600 bucks! then a year and half it blew up, but it was pretty badass back in the day

How is the FPS? Is it normally that laggy or is it just from recording? Also, I might get a 7900 because my Chipset only supports 7 series so what processor should I get for it? Would I be fine with a Core 2 Duo? I already have a Pentium Dual Core.

Yeah, I had a 8400GS till just recently, It was a trooper though lol, from 400 mhz memory to 600, and 567 core up to 751 core (would overheat on that core though)

GT 430 is so much better.

I'm trying to get a HD 4830 that's running on a HD 4850 settings on tigerdirect. It's close, but it's away by not much. It's the diablotek HD 4830 :D The 8400gs is a temperary card for me. My 8400gs is running at 567 on core and 500 on memory or something. It's not overclocked :D Plays my games very smoothly. Check out my latest video. Its just a test video so don't expect the most out of it.

man I remember when I bought the 7900 GTX 512 OC, it was the best card at the time, ($800 I paid) and still couldn't run Crysis for shit.

got my GTX 260 now, and it's MUCH better :-)

tho I'm thinking of picking up a GTX 460 soon.

@supermec131 yeah, but it's mostly Fraps recorder that makes these lags, Fraps eats the graphic card on the FPS while recording :P

@mckerraljamie lol, the 7900 is crap next to the GTX 295, I use to own it, then one day whenever I tried to play any game, the case fan and monitor would shut off.... ended up being a good thing anyways, cuz It was time to upgrade, and I ended up getting the GTX 260, but I do wanna get the GTX 460, it's a very good price, and there's no point in investing in DX10 cards now.

Upgrade your Cpu's to at least Pentium D , (Dual core is much better) GTS 250 video card is being big timed bottle necked by Pentium 4 ( I once went from P4 to a e5200 overclocked to 3.75 ghz ) HUGE DIFFERENCE !!!........

but i have GTS 250 wich is little bit faster than your card and my pentium 4 CPU is not the socket 478 one......it is LGA 775 with 1 mb L2 and 800 mhz and i shut down the antialiasing (cuz it is barely visible with eye and drags alot of FPS) and also on Nvidia drivers i set all settings to max performance

wery interesting.......i have pentium 4 3.2 ght and geforce GTS 250 and on everything high 1680x1050 i get arround 15-20 fps but when i upgrade my mbo and cpu i expect at least 25-35 fps
