  • lol why are you favorited your own vids? self promotion? ;)

  • @HLM190586 It all helps.

  • hhahahaah YES I got a nicer video card than you! but my mobo is a bit cheaper :-)

  • How much cost this one 5870?

  • How much cost this one 5870?

  • How much cost this Card?

  • That's no card, THAT'S A MONSTER!

  • Does anyone know where to buy this card?

  • @jpollo76 newegg?

  • hey i am going to be getting this card but i cannot find this on google so im am hoping someone can help me. i can fit a 11 inch long card and a 2 inch wide but i do not know how wide the card is and i do not know how tall this card is. if someone can please tell me the measurements including height i would be much gratefull

  • How much powe supply do I need for this graphic card, I have a 350 W which I am sure is too low and will just make my computer go in "beep alarm" mode, so is 650/850 W good enough?

  • @SilentWalk18 For that Card I would recommend a 550 W PSU or just go 600 W and be one the safe side even though you wont need allt he wattage. Now the most important thing when you buy a PSU make sure that it says 80 PLUS Certified! And that usually comes with good brands such as Corsair, XFX, Seasonic etc.. So just check online reviews for your PSU of choice and you should be fine.

  • It's the graphic card covering up the sata port section? I know some motherboard have that problems with that?

  • I have the same motherboard as you but I'm using a PNY GT 240 graphics card. I'm building a computer and it all works except one problem, I can't see my screen. I can't seem to find the problem with graphic car/motherboard connection. Any suggestions? =/

  • @MrAlexYall Silly question, but r u plugged into the right monitor output? Try them all. Sorry if that is a silly suggestion, but best to start with that.

  • @davomrmac Yes, I've tried both, actually all of them, including a hdmi to my tv. I can't seem to find a power source that the graphics card needs, I know that's most likely a stupid comment, but I can't tell if it needs some kind of power besides being plugged in. I had a theroy that I needed to install windows in order to install the video card, but then I realized, if I can't see I can't install it.

  • @MrAlexYall Oh right, yes that might be it. Did it come with power cables, if so feed it some power.

  • @davomrmac No, I wish I could show you it, it has no area to plug in power, and yet I'm almost sure that's the problem. At least that's my last guess.

  • @MrAlexYall Give the guys who sold it to you a ring, maybe a cable was missing, maybe it needs more power than your PSU can supply. Mind you, reading the specs it says 300W which is pretty low.

  • @davomrmac I would besides that fact that it's 5 in the morning =P Also, as a continue of my last comment, I do see the fan on the card move when the computer's turned on, so I know it's receiving power because of this, right? And did I get a crap-shoot graphics card for gaming? By your "low" Statement.

  • @MrAlexYall Sounds like it is getting power. No the card is not bad, just requires a low rated power supply, so your PSU is unlikely to be the issue. Has you motherboard got built in graphics, if yes connect to that. Then you can check your BIOS settings. I am no expert though :(

  • @davomrmac Lol... Kinda lost me at that one. -First time building a computer and barely knows the terms- I'm not sure what PSU is, and no, I'm using the same motherboard as the one from these videos, and sadly, there's no built in graphics, otherwise I most likely wouldn't of bought the graphics card =P I wish there was, it would make life a WHOLE lot easier.

  • how much was this card back then?

  • @staticslipk5 Around £200-250 I think.

  • confussled..i opened the box thingy but i didn't see my graphic card in there only a big thingy in the left corner or something.. idk if that was my graphic card but idk how to changle it.. e_e i got ATI radeon x1200 series.

  • 5870 is here in holland for sale for about 240 to 250 dollars ( euro +/- 220 )

I bought one caus I think it's worth the money.

new series are awsome but too expensive for the performance.

  • Notice the graphics card SAG after he pushes into the PCI Xpress port? (time sequence 3:08) It's a good way to damage your motherboard.

The case should be on its side when you install expansion cards. And those cards should be mounted with screws first before moving the case upright again to avoid damaging the PCI port..

  • hey bro

  • hey bro m thinkin 2 buy gts 250 1gb with dis card can i play every game on max Including metro 2033

  • @Elliott4gaming No, I use it for video editing.

  • How good is the asus ati radeon hd 5870 now because im thinking of getting it but i don't know if its worth getting it now?

  • @bmigotcha Awesome. Very good performance for the money.

  • @bmigotcha i no this is a few months old, but if u wanna spend the extra money (not much) the 6000 series is beter option to get, i'm after the 6970, $499 AUS, but thats top of the range atm in 6000 series

  • @adamKlD $399 at MSY

  • So you gave it back when the video series/build was done?

  • @Firask2010 I purchased it after I had finished.

  • Did Asus give you the video card for free?

  • @Firask2010 It was loaned to me.

  • Thx dave - will help me a lot - a great series you've made. especilly the MB and processor part :) thx for Denmark

  • @thomsenrox Thanks for watching.

  • Coolermaster FTW :)

  • .........................you get 4gb now...

  • is your case a full tower? it makes the 5870 look so small lol.

  • @bowarrful It is classed as a midi on the Coolermaster website, but bigger than some full towers, so I class this as a full tower.

  • Out of all the "how to" videos I've seen on bulding a computer, your's are by far the most helpful. Thanks alot for posting these.

  • @LurkingHellFire Cheers.

  • @davomrmac hes right you know man great video

  • @MrChris0123 Thanks again.

  • I am going to build an custom PC soon, I am 15 years old. I have orderen the ASUS P6T SE Motherboard Socket 1366, the XFX Ati radeon HD5850 (1gb gdrr5), thermaltake element g case, inter core i7-930 etc. This video is really going to help me out building a custom PC. Congratz with your PC. By the way: Isn't thermal paste necassary?

  • @Dangcosmo The CPU fan already had thermal paste on it.

  • @davomrmac But most of the time they say that the thermal paste intel uses is crap. Same for the cooler they use? So there is no need to custom add thermal paste and a custom cooler?

  • @Dangcosmo I found no need to, but you can improve on what they supply by spending a little more.

  • haha big that MOTHERBOARD

  • DDR5 wow

  • S**** me DDR5 :)

  • My custom build PC has an asus motherboard, an asus graphics card and an intel core i7, and I can tell you, this thing you are building is a beast! Congratulations with your new PC! :)

  • @TheDonAtlantic Thanks Don.

  • are u showing how to install windows on a build? i really need this video because i want to build one and dont know how to install windows after build.

  • @TheIpodRocka That is uploading today, Saturday 17th July.

  • Nice card!! I would have gone with the Nvidia GTX 470 because it offers better performance. It's only $270 on Newegg right now. I will be picking up another one and SLI them. I already have one 470. You should have went with the EVGA Classified Motherboard. Its all red so it would have matched the graphics card.

  • @expertontech Thanks for your comment. Food for thought :)

  • Graphics card? HA! More like graphics brick!

  • @iRtehSHIZ lol.

  • hi dave. is it as easy as you make it look???

  • @90aunder It really is if you take your time.

  • will you make a video of you running it

  • @arrow1archer Yes i will do.

  • Wow, I opened up my Sony VAIO desktop from 2002 and now, I am fully able to name all the parts. It's the reason I've always been discouraged from building a PC because it is so messy inside, with wires going everywhere, and the power supply is 'caged' in by metal. This build looks like putting legos together compared to that and I'm very excited to build my own PC. The graphics card is small too compared to this monster 5870. Thanks again.

  • @StevenSSX1 Thanks for your comment.

  • @StevenSSX1 If you use some time for the cables when building pc, IE. sleeve them, and use cable management and modular psu, you can get very nice looking build, with almost no cables showing out.

  • can you make a video of a review kind of thing like tell us how it performs and show us the custom system in action

  • @capacop01 Yes, that'll be video nine in two days.

  • You will need 2 Cards if you want to run 3 dvi monitors,

1 card can use 2 DVI and a Displayport, must be a native display port monitor

  • Oh man, you rock...i can't wait for your next video!!!

Just a question...do you prefer midi or full boxes? i am going t buy a pc and i don't know if a midi box is all i need or what i need is a full box because of the upgrades.

    please answer:-)

  • @PANOSBUCKET I prefer midi boxes, but the full towers allow more airflow which makes for a quieter PC.

  • i like the way you install all the component.... and must tell you that i know now how to built a PC.. if I earn some extra money at work.. i m planning to built my own PC following your PC Build Series.... thanks DAVE for great video

  • @desaironak11 Cheers.

  • There will be an 8th video right?

Until it appears, i will wait with my eyes wide open for this:-P

    Just kidding:-D!!!You rock man!!

  • @PANOSBUCKET 8th and 9th, than that's it :( Then a couple of upgrade videos. Thanks for watching.

  • Hi Dave just got a quick ques. Will this pc display better graphics than say a ps3 or 360? Thanks

  • @adamsbil1 In my opinion, yes. Much higher res.

  • I noticed you have not been using an anti-static wrisp strap, is this not required or have you been doing this another way? Fantastic videos, well done!

  • @The3emotions Another way.

  • @The3emotions i tihnk he's using an anti static mat or just touching everything before working with it :)

  • @cazthegamer Sorry, I should have added that. Thanks. @The3emotions

  • will there be an installing OS video?

  • @thedarknesspiczo Yes in video 9.

  • nice build, but my worry is the amount electricity need. is too much electricity used by this compared to a normal pc

  • @macguyo :) Should be OK.

  • Are you going to hackintosh this do you think?

I see 5xxx series support has just been announced on tonymac.

  • @grahamc747 Not on this one :(

  • nice one Dave

  • @MrTechtalk Cheers.

  • awesome graphics card

  • wow what a graphics card !lol i can only imagine how small the iphones card is do you play games on your pc?

  • @getblitzed :)

  • I love this series :) Getting excited for my build soon :P

  • @partyatmine38 Cheers

  • thank you dave..i learn alot from ur reviews..

  • @gbenifits1968 Thanks for that.

  • Wow seriously ive never known/seen a graphics card so damn big!

  • @pookitty1 It is massive!

  • great card and great build :D

  • @NitroZX Thanks.

  • God, it sure has been a long time since i've build one. It's great to watch someone do it from the beginning to the end! Brings back old memory's

  • I waited till 12:22 am to watch this video, Probably because I live in the North-West.
