awww =) look at the babyyyyy lol....with that head FULL of hair!! lol...so precious!!....i also experience the post pardum shedding....mine was horrible,...it came out in CLUMPS ok!!...and mine didnt start until after i stopped breast feeding as well...but i shed for a year!! and i finally got it under control...what i did, i did an over night conditioning treatment, took b vitamins, garlic vitamins and i also added the garlic to my conditioners, so....hope this helps
the way i dealt with postpartum shedding is crunching about 3 prenatal pills up and putting it into my shampoo..not to many if your pills smell bad. And also drink water..even though I breastfed my daughter a little over a year I didnt see shedding until I cut my hair which was when she was about 5 months. Now im on my own hair journey thanks to you!
I had postpartum shedding after both off babies. It started when they were around 3-4 months old and lasted about 7 or 8 months. That was also the time when my cycle started back even though I was breast feeding. I didn't even bother trying to combat the shedding. I shed really bad around my hairline but it all grew back!
im sorry but i tried to pay attention to you but i couldn't b/c of your baby, i kept thinking about the jokes that kevin hart would say about his child when his child kept moving and shaking his head around whenever he would talk to him about something he did when he was a baby. idk why i thought of that.
@Priyncesz My blood pressure has been through the roof since I gave birth. We tried to get it down with different meds that don't affect breastfeeding, but since it hasn't helped, we had to go to stronger meds that I can't breastfeed with. I'm still hurt behind that. I breastfed all my children and I wish Robert could've had the same.
@fgrogan -- Hey, eating watermelon and boiling garlic then drinking the water helps to regulate your BP level. Also, if you find it where you live, try boiling bread-fruit leaves (you can google it) and drinking it as well. I'm not sure if you'll find it where you live because I live in the Caribbean. My mom used these after 5 miscarriages. The meds they put her on did not help her blood pressure.
Congratulations on the baby! You also look like you are feeling better and doing better in this vid! ;) I am glad to see that and hope the blood pressure is under control. He is adorable, you are blessed! :)
you look great- so does he....thank you for still posting- i know its a challenge but this will actually help keep you sane and connect to something bigger than you....so thank you- it is very much appreciated...
@27Dupree27 No, not at all. I wanted dissolvable stitches but he used staples. they removed the staples b4 I was discharged and it looked great 4weeks later. Now I can't really see the scar at all. I'm impressed!
You are right! None of the so called hair shedding remedies ( black tea rinse, garlic, etc.) My daughter is 7 months now and I experienced it during the 4-6 month period. My edges also disappeared during this time period. It is a natural process and it eventually stops. Good luck with everything and your boy is a cutie!
I went out and bought myself some garlic shampoo, and also did a henna and placenta deep conditioning treatment on my hair. You're right its a natural process, and my hair is still coming out when I comb it. I think I'll try to finger comb more and see how it goes. How long will this last? Because I can't wait for this shedding to be over.
O my my.. first off congrats on your handsome little guy! My son was born Oct 25th, he just turned 3 months old and I started my post partum shedding when he was about 11 weeks old. I don't comb my hair every day so when I first combed through it I was like hmm that's a lot of hair, then it hit me what was going on. Pregnancy did my hair good! It got longer, it got thicker but this shedding is ruining my progress. I might even trim it when I relax in a week or 2 because my ends got thinner.
Yeah me too. I was so busy looking at the baby, (oh by the way, he is sooooo cute) I wasn't listening to nothing you were saying about your hair shedding. LOL. I had to play it over three times myself. LOL!
@MsReneify thank u for asking! Its still high, even with the stronger meds. It's staying around 160's over 105-110 range. I think me losing weight and eating healthier will help it go down.
You need to give me that chubby cheek baby... LOL! He is so adorable. Congratulations on a healthy baby and I am definitely praying for you and yours. Many Blessings!!!
@Sparklez4u Hey Beautiful!!! I personally relaxed my hair b4 I had Robert. I knew the shedding would come after delivery and didn't want to put more stress on my hair by putting a relaxer on it while shedding. I need a perm now but I'm going to wait til my shedding is done. I'm 15 weeks post. Congrats on your little one!
Hey Felicia! Pray that all is well. I would like to see some pics of your current hair length and how much growth do u think youve attained since pregnancy..
Awww, little Robert is a cutie and you are looking good. When my hair was shedding, I bought some minced garlic and put a little of the juice in my conditioner and that helped.
Awwww, i don't know if u get this a lot but he takes after u very much! :) U can also do scalp massages with any oil of ur choice to give those follicles a head start to make new hair :)
Little Robert gets more cute each time you show him. He is going to be a knock-out.
Yeah, the shedding is quite normal. it is usually around the temples & edges, so be mindful not to pull your hair back too tightly. What helped with me (and my daughters, who both have daughers age 3) was continuing to take the prenatal vitamins for as long as you can. Even though my hair (and theirs) did shed a bit, it was nothing compared to how much it grew and thickened. and it didn't fall out afterwards.
Sorry to hear about your shedding. I went through the same thing when both my 8 year old and 6 month old hit 3 months. There are all kinds of things you can purchase, however, you are right. There's nothing much you can do until the 6 months are up an your hair grows back. I wound up doing my big chop at 4 months cuz I was so scared to relax it. Anyway, happy styling!
Lol hes lookin like "mommy who u talkin to?" I just had my girl in october and I was mildly horrified when so much hair shedded that it clogged my drains and came out all on my hands. This went on for a few weeks. Ugh. Thank goodness its back to normal.
aww him is too cute...I had mii lil girl on dec 21 and like u i notice once i stop nursin the shedding started I am freaking out because i just got on the healthy hair journey and it have grown a lot by watching ur videos. now its like just shedding I will try the ponytail in a bun to see if it works thanks for postin this vid
I had my son on the 1st of Nov also. I had started shedding right after the new year and I am still breastfeeding. So far I would consider my shedding mild.
He is gorgeous!!! I shedded like crazy when I had my daughter, it started when she was 3 months old. I hated coming my hair. Even today that section is a little thin but I am working on it. Don't worry it will stop eventually..
You are beautiful and so are your babies. I love the videos. Looking forward to more tutorials. Take your time adjusting. Youtube can wait lol. Love you Fgrogan. P.s who would hit the dislike on this video. HATERS KEEPING IT PUSHING. ALL LOVE OVER HERE!!!
@mEmYSELFaNDj2 Girl, he was looking in the mirror!! We play "where's my nose?", where's my eyes?",ect in the mirror everyday! Either he was ready to play, he saw our reflections, or he is conceited already! Lol
my hair shedded tremendously with each of my pregnancies. The process durated for about 1 1/2 months. My edges always took the shedding the worst. i have thick hair also but the shedding is a scary situation! The baby is very beautiful...God bless u and ur family. I love your vids and i be patiently waiting and praying for you until you return!
I had my daughter in nov and my hair has just started sheading its all over the place and in my combs and brushes im just going to wear wigs until this sheading stops
stopping the breastfeeding probably just made your body start to adjust back to normal hormonally. I didn't breastfeed but about 3 to 4 months after I had my baby thats when the shedding started.
My hair shed like crazy after I had my daughter. It took a few months for it to stop. I can't lie, I freaked out!!! :-) It was horrible....keep doing what your doing. There isn't too much else u can do since your body is trying to balance itself back to normal.
He is so precious!! I had terrible post partum shedding after my last child. There were literally handfulls of hair coming out every time I washed it. That was part of the reason I went natural, because the shedding/thinning plus relaxed hair was not a good look. I hope it all turns around for you. God bless!
Glad to hear a good report. Your laid back personality is so refreshing and you can see the bond that you and Baby Robert already have. He's seems to be a very calm, laid back baby. You are very blessed. Thanks for the update.
robert is so cute. but i dont blame you, just let your hair do what it's supposed to do. when it stops then you can pick up where you left off....so, how are your other kids doing with the new addition? any jealousy, or are they old enough and are just excited about little robert? be blessed!
@tkquel thank you. Yes, they are doing great. No jealousy, they couldn't wait til he got here and they help so much! My two oldest change his diapers, feed him, and play with him so I can eat or take a bath or do things around the house. They are my angels!!
Forgot to mention, keep taking your vitamins and moisturize your scalp. Post partum shedding is normal and some women experience worse than others. Your meds can also contribute to the shedding. But you are on the right track hun :-). God bless you!
Shedding after a baby is completely normal because of the decreased blood activity, just let the shedding run it's course. It will stop once your hormones come back into balance.
I shedded after my surgery. It was so bad that I went to a derma. He said to just let it take its course, thats natural after surgery. An in honesty all that shedding, there was no balding or thinning?? It was weird. The shedding did stop. Youre doing the right thing for your hair. Btw its still very beautiful. SweetSunshineKisses2U & Lil Man he's so cute!
he is just to cute,2 personal questions if you will, but i see one is already answered, about why you stop breastfeeding, but the other quesion is are you going to continue with the prenatal vitamins as a daily supplement?
So good to see both of you an those bright beautiful faces. God is Good. I just think about watching you before pregnancy, then through the pregnancy, now to see lil man here. The circle of life is just amazing. Thank you for sharing just enough with us to keep us updated. Shedding is normal for any major trauma or stress the body goes through
My relaxed hair grew longer than it every had when I was pregnant with my child, I kept it in braids for 9-months, I should have left it in braids after I had my daughter, but I took them out and wore my hair down. Within 3-months, I had lost all of my hair, it had shed and broken all the way up to right below ear length. I'm certain it was from relaxing and then braiding hair combined with postpartum. Now that I'm natural, I don't have shedding issues. *Your baby is too cute*
Are you on any meds for your hypertension? Mix that with with just having your cutie pie baby. That could be why you shedding, excessively. God bless.
I just had my daughter in august and started shedding a few months ago. Lately I have noticed that less and less shedding has been happening. I am natural and I am currently breastfeeding and keeping up with my pre-natals. This is my second baby, you know every pregnancy is different. Im still on fear mode about shedding anymore hair because my hair is shoulder length now. With my last daughter I shed so much I actually lost my length. You both are looking wonderful.I wish you both the best.
He is so handsome! He's taking in EVERYTHING that you are saying. I have a feeling when he starts talking a little he'll be in a lot of your videos putting his two cents in.
Look @ those cheeks! He's definitely hanging close and tight with Mom! Shedding most likely related to hormone drop/changes post pregnancy. Thus, you noticed it more so after discontinuing breastfeeding, another hormone drop/shift. It should slow and eventually cease as your body gets back to your normal balance. You both look great. Enjoy the little one. They grow so fast!!!
He is so beautiful!! I went through the same thing when I weaned my last daughter, but it is just all the shed hair that you didn't shed during the pregnancy. Your hair is thick, so it will be fine in the end, just like you said. But, my shedding started when I weaned, too.
Omg! He's a qt!

Thanks for the update.

robert is so cute. but i dont blame you, just let your hair do what it's supposed to do. when it stops then you can pick up where you left off....so, how are your other kids doing with the new addition? any jealousy, or are they old enough and are just excited about little robert? be blessed!
tkquel 1 month ago
@tkquel thank you. Yes, they are doing great. No jealousy, they couldn't wait til he got here and they help so much! My two oldest change his diapers, feed him, and play with him so I can eat or take a bath or do things around the house. They are my angels!!

Forgot to mention, keep taking your vitamins and moisturize your scalp. Post partum shedding is normal and some women experience worse than others. Your meds can also contribute to the shedding. But you are on the right track hun :-). God bless you!
Sdestra 1 month ago
Shedding after a baby is completely normal because of the decreased blood activity, just let the shedding run it's course. It will stop once your hormones come back into balance.

I shedded after my surgery. It was so bad that I went to a derma. He said to just let it take its course, thats natural after surgery. An in honesty all that shedding, there was no balding or thinning?? It was weird. The shedding did stop. Youre doing the right thing for your hair. Btw its still very beautiful. SweetSunshineKisses2U & Lil Man he's so cute!

Robert is so cute and talking. Hopefully the shedding stops soon just keep taking your prenatel vitamins.

michellekinnar 1 month ago
Look @ those cheeks! He's definitely hanging close and tight with Mom! Shedding most likely related to hormone drop/changes post pregnancy. Thus, you noticed it more so after discontinuing breastfeeding, another hormone drop/shift. It should slow and eventually cease as your body gets back to your normal balance. You both look great. Enjoy the little one. They grow so fast!!!
sheerlylavendar 1 month ago
He is so beautiful!! I went through the same thing when I weaned my last daughter, but it is just all the shed hair that you didn't shed during the pregnancy. Your hair is thick, so it will be fine in the end, just like you said. But, my shedding started when I weaned, too.
