If you catch Gregori's shotgun and you're not holding anything with your gravity gun, it'll mess up your Zombie Chopper achievement, which happened to me the first time I tried to get it. I also never knew about that lift and always just jump off the ledge because although you take falling damage, it's probably a lot less painful than getting molested by fast zombies.
