I started on bass at age 10. I'm 52 now and I started playing guitar when I was 15. If I would have stuck with the bass I would be just good enough now to sweep the stage for these guys after the gig was over. These guys are great players that have a high degree of talent. Talent cannot be learned. You ether have it or you will struggle to play as I do.
@johnnyrocksable i dont think thats entirely truth.Altough a certain degree of natural talent of music is a must for any good/great musician, you need to work HARD and practise enough hours (meaning like 30% of your life holding a bass or whatever insturment you play) you can be as great as these guys or even more. Talent means nothing without that. And believe me to get there you WILL struggle like a slave, either you have the "Talent" or you dont. Fight the demons that say "you wont get there".
THIS IS INCREDIBLE! this is so good Im going to throw my basses of a roof. Are either of you guys in NYC teaching. I am a jazz student at north texas but i live in jersey. do you teach
ma uno non può andare in giro a cercare Paris Hilton senza farsi umiliare da queste enciclopedie del giezz? rhythm-a-ning non la suonerò mai più...maledetti!

Had Monk heard this Im sure he would have gone into strutting his cool jam-dance!
Funny man, I saw a video of Monk starting to dig so much he broke into a dance - it was his own solo though so the music stopped... :-)
