I know what you're talking about, but the reason why platts song is original is because the two songs melodies do not favor. They may be in the same form, but if you were to aline the two songs frequencies they wouldn't match. Like rap songs that sample other songs, if you were to compare the frequency of a song like cause i love you by lenny williams and overnight celebrity by twista the two would be very similiar.
