I´m descendant of Hutsuls, and they identified as Ukrainians. Nobody can change the fact that Hutsuls identify as Ukrainians. Hutsul culture and folklore form a cultural continuun with the rest of the Carpathian regions of suothwestern Ukraine (Boikivschchyna, Transcarpathia, Pokutia and Bukovyna) and Podillia.
The fact that Ukrainian Hutsul folklore is similar to Romanian and Moldavian doesn´t make it "Romanian" or "Moldavian". Maybe, we should think if Romanian or Moldavian folklore is similar to Ukrainian. Hutsuls were never latinized; some scholars think that they were Free Dacians (it means not Latinized, and then not Romanians)
The fact that Hutsuls were (if they were) Dacians doesn´t mean that they were Romanians. Dacians latinized became Romanians. Dacians not latinized can´t be Romanians, because they don´t have latin, roman blood and origins.
bubibudLosk wow you so stupid!!! tell me how many sloavakian live in Transcarpatia??? There I meet Ukrainians. Hungarians Some Romanians! But never meet a local slovakian!
In this region was big influence by Humgarian but never Slovakian!
Returning??? Stolen??? Read the matherians of Trianon treaty, you moron. Then ask questions... And NEVER mix up temporary Protectorate with belonging... It HAS NEVER been slovakian - even between 1920 and 1939...
Hungarians have never formed majority in this region! It's not a part of their ethnic territory. This wasn't a liberation. Occupation. Hungarian army annexed Transcarpathia like Russia annexed Abkhazia and South Osetia in 2008.
And btw, this movie is nothing more than liable propaganda. After the fall Czechoslovakia thanks to that fucking traitors in Munich 1938, Ruthenians declared their own state..But this state lasted for just one day, another day hungarian forces annexed country with Hitler´s agreement!
Really? Check a map retard and tell me where this belonged from 1000-1920? And by the way with this many Polish and jewish lives were saved from the German-Soviet troops. Thank to Hungary. Remember that Poland was divided by Germany and Russia with the Molotov-Ribbentrop pactum. So better read more before you talk shit. We had and we ahve 100% historical rights on this territory!
Is´t not important where did it belong. Of course we know that it belonged to the Kingdom of the Holy Crown (Uhorsko)..What is more important is that Rusyns are opressed by Ukrainians. They deserve their own state, because without it they haven´t any future..Just visit Uzhorod, Mukacevo, Ivano-Frankivsk and you will see it..
Btw: The best times for Rusyns in their history were during 1st Czechoslovak republic..
Right now they are not even existing as they are called russian or ukrainian or what ever.
As far as i know they dont even wanted to be a part of Czechslovakia and later a part of The Soviet Union. They claim themselvs as one of the oldest Hungarians some are relating them with Huns. The Rusyns need to be respected and they really deserve independence or they should be able to live where they want. I got a friend from Beregszász and yes Ungvár, Munkács and Huszt are connected to our history.
Of course Ruthenia was a part of Kingdom in the past and many Ruthenians lived and still live in Slovakia. But they aren´t Huns and they don´t claim to be Huns or either Hungarians..They are often take as white Croatians (Lemko), but there are also other ethnic groups related to Slovaks and Poles (Huculs and Bojkos)..After the fall of Monarchy opinion that they should be part of Czechoslovakia prevailed in their community, under obligation that they would be given authonomy..
sory but this is a bulshit you wrote what kind of opressed to the rusyns by Ukrainians??? Rusyns they are Ukrainians!!! they are sub-ethnic group of Ukrainians as a boykos and Hutsuls!
oh..may be you should read something else then ukrainian propaganda...
"After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1990, the Rusyns in the Transcarpathian oblast (territory) were able to vote in December 1991 for self rule within the Ukraine. With an 89% voter turnout, 78% voted Yes to autonomy. But with the Russian majority in the Odessa region casting a similar vote, the Ukrainian government, fearing secession, has refused to honor this referendum."
yes..we all know the objectivity of the ukrainian autorities...
-the vast majority of the population wants autonomy (as they voted in 1991)...and if they're really ukrainians, why is it a problem to give them what they want???
Hutsuls are not ukrainians. Hutsuls are hutsuls. They were Dacians who got romanised first (Romanians, moldavians) then slavicised. Hutsuls are hutsuls and that's it. Just look at their folklore. Is 100 % moldavian.
I meet many hutsuls from Transcarpatia. Pokutia. Bukovina! They all feel 100% Ukrainians! they speak the Ukrainian language Yes thare theory that they have some dacian roots! but its only theory But thet never got romanised ! where you got this idea??They folklore is not moldovanian they folklore is carpathian!!!
If this was a liberation than it´s strange that old Magyars I have met in Uzhorod, Mukac and Chust told me that the best times they had were during Czechoslovak 1st Republic..They even tried to speak slovak on me to prove their grateful approach..
yeah, Hungarians occupied the Hungarian land, what an occupation. Check the videos again, whole cities celebrated the Hungarian soldiers. Why? because they were totally Hungarian cities before the rumanization etc.
So ironic!
Poland, along with Germany and Hungary, had split Czechoslovakia into pieces.-and less than a year, Germany and the Soviet Union divided Poland!

what happened after???

in 91 was a referendum on the independence of Ukraine in which the population of Transcarpathia fully supported the Ukrainian State!
