  • Yes, more so after the September earthquake where the track was shortened.. Railway guys came and straightened it out, however because the ground was still settling they had to come back and shorten the track further.. Pretty amazing, think there is some photos of the track on the GNS website.. :)

  • Great catch, at least you have the big Trans Alpine coal trains in CHCH.

    BTW did the railways suffer track damage with the earth quakes ?
