steps to safe stealing:

1. get a trawl orb.

2.make sure that there is a kecleon shop on the floor that you're on.

3. make sure that there's something u really need or want in the kecleon store

4. go to the staircase

5. use trawl orb.

all the items from everywhere, including from the kecleon store will come to you.

6. GET TO THE STAIRCASE ANG RUN

This reminds me of one time I tried to steal from a store in Purity Forest. It was B95F, and I had a Pass Scarf, so I was in no danger. Of course, I get hungry, and I have no food! I get pummeled to death by the damn Kecleons, and can't be rescued since I was defeated while stealing from a store. I was in disbelief, it was the closest I ever got to beating that cheap-as-hell dungeon.

A bunch of berserk Kecleons started chasing me! I tried to fight (somehow I was a lvl 100) but after I attacked with my strongest moves and did like 15 dmg and they dealt like 150 dmg in 1 NORMAL hit. I was like HOLY CRAP! And I escaped XD

To actually STEAL a friend bow, you must take it, and tell Kecleon you're not paying for the item, THEN use an escape orb. Always works...i think...

nope. you can't use orbs while in the shop and when battling them, it's counted as a boss battle so orbs are also disabled.

You can't actually steal it in time and darkness, though. however, to really steal, pick up the items you want then tell the kecleon you're stealing and use an escape orb. That's a way to make sure you have the items.
